Sunny day

Yesterday was the first significant snow of the season. A foot of snow was in the forecast, but we probably got more like eight inches. I was a bit depressed thinking about the dreary snow season being here.

But, this morning I was greeted by something that's not usually here once snow season starts in Michigan. It was the sun! The sky was blue. And it was wonderful.

Here's the shot I got when we walked to breakfast.

Here it is a bit later.

Sunshine on the snow. :)

And, later yet, here come the clouds from the West.

The sun decided to peek once more.

Then behind the clouds again.

But the clouds in the East were still pretty in pink.

It's supposed to snow for the next five days but this sunny day should help me get through it.

I think as winter arrives I want to move further south. It is 29 (F) outside and Alex is sitting on the heat register in the kitchen. I only wish that I were small enough to sit on one, too.

Those are beautiful blue skies. Wow.

I hope that you have to sun to keep you happy for a while. Sun always helps. :)

Hi, Susan! I love that blue, too. Looks like you've also had snow.

Nick, my family thought we knew what winter was until we moved to Michigan. Keep warm!

Amber, thanks! You bet, sunshine is great. And, you have a great birthday today!

Lynn, blue sky and sun are at a premium this time of year in Michigan. Thank you. :)

Yeah, we got promised more inches than we got, too. ;)

In this case, though, an empty promise is not a bad thing. We still ended up with almost 11 inches.

Well I see we sent the snow your way. I hope you don't get the temps we have. I am so spoiled . . . because here in Colorado we get more sunshine than not.
Laughing at hellokittn's comment. Your pictures are beautiful . . . wishing your sunshine.

Beautiful pics as always. I wish we got snow like that - although if we did the entire country would collapse because we can't cope with extreme weather. I love looking at your photos though. Keep them coming! :0)

Kittn, ain't it the truth?

Bucky, yes some promises are just begging to be renigged upon. Or, something like that. Sorry about your 11 inches.

Nina, I've heard about Colorado getting lots of winter sunshine. Send some my way when you can. And what're we gonna do about the Kittn? :D
Thanks!

Platypus, thank you. Believe me, the snow is more fun to look at. I just did a little bit of shoveling this heavy stuff and I have some very sore muscles. And I'm glad that you haven't tired of my pictures. :)

Beautiful!! I can't imagine snow without the bright blue skies and piercing sunlight. I swear, growing up in CO, the light in the winter was almost too bright because of the snow. Maybe that's why I like snow, because I've haven't really had to experience it with months of gloom. I wouldn't like that either, I don't think. Great pictures!! And how much do I love that you were walking to breakfast bright and early?? We ARE sisters!!

Eclectic, Michigan winters are very gloomy. I don't know why, but we get more than our fair share of cloudy days. Thank you. And I love to walk to breakfast on the weekend. It's nice to get there bright and early and still have so much day left. Sisters we are. :)

What a nice way to spend a (Sunday, I think it was?) morning.

sun, pretty snow, and photos. :-)

We have snow here too and the first thing i checked is if my tree that I put lights on outside has any (not yet), because I love when the lights sparkle through the snow.

I bet we'll get some before Christmas comes and goes though.

Danielle, it was Saturday. A beautiful Saturday. :) Thanks!

I do like the look of snow on the lights. At one of our houses I had lights inside the windows. But there was a little ledge that caught the snow and made a nice show of the bottom ones.

Good luck on your getting some snow cover.

Eclectic, she even got MY fat, lazy butt to walk to breakfast when I was there last week. And that means I was awake and dressed before noon!

PC, I never feel left out when I don't get snow. But you can enjoy pictures of it here any time you want. :)

Bucky, you did just fine, walking to breakfast with us. And those banana almond crepes were worth it, weren't they?

Ladybug, thanks! Yes, we can come back to those sunny pictures any time that we need to, thank goodness. :)

Very nice photos. Love the skies, but I'm not so sure about the white stuff lying around. We have some of that here as well, but at least we are getting some moisture. Is it too soon to say I'm ready for spring?

Well you know I love snow!
But that's because we don't see much of it here...

Hi, Sierrabella! I've seen pictures of total white at your place, haven't I???

We're getting dumped on here again today. I knew that moving closer to the lake meant more lake-effect snow. But it also means more moderate temperatures year round.

How are you doing?

Eight inches is very respectable. I couldn't believe I had to read all the way down to chchchia before someone went there. That's my girl :)
Beautiful pix, I especially like the pink skies.

Susie, hi! Yes, leave it to our littlest sister to, um, bring that one up. :)

Thanks, I love the pink, too. It's actually clear again today. And the Western skies were reflecting a beautiful pink.
