It's fall, and it's pretty out there
Yes, this month's been a bit rough for me. But you know that going for rides and taking pictures always makes me feel better. Michigan has a nice diversity of trees that makes for lots of gorgeous colors.
These pictures come from two different days rides, the second one includes a local park.
I know this picture is blurry, but I couldn't resist taking a picture of an emu.
If you click on this one and choose All Sizes, then large, you'll see that it was raining at that time.
Check out the reflection on this one.
I did not climb this path. :)
There are a few more pictures on Flickr that I didn't put in here. It'll be hard enough for those of you with dial-up as it is. :-)

Oh Squirl, I am so sorry I have not been around much. Sorry you have been having such a sad time.
Your fall pictures are wonderful. The colours are brilliant. The subject matter is perfect. :)
Squirly--LOVING the fall pics--I've chosen the road between the trees as my fall wallpaper--absolutely gorgeous!
Come and see how big I'm getting--kinda scary when I look at pics, actually!
Hugs to you--I hope the sunshine starts peaking through the clouds in your life a little more!
I think this is my new favorite series. I likes me some fall!
August, I know you've been busy and not blogging a lot. Thank you for everything. :)
Effie, thanks! I had two shots of that scene, but I liked this one better. You are really showing there, girl. :)
Mr B, thanks! I would like fall better if it weren't followed so rapidly by winter.
I once saw an emu pissing...it was a flood of biblical proportions!
Nice set there, sis...PICTURES, people, I mean PICTURES. Love the reflection one. You guys seem to be getting brighter colors than we are, too. Hmmmmph!
Hi Squirl! Going for rides makes me feel better, too. I'm not very good with a digital camera yet, so I usually just chow down on ice cream when I go for a ride. Your photos are absolutely gorgeous!!
Bucky, I knew, somehow, that you might have a comment about the emu. :)
Thanks! I thought you guys would get about the same colors over there??
Lynn, ice cream is good, too. ;) Thanks!
WOW, You sure have beauty around you. I had forgotten how beautiful fall is back east. I tried to pick a favorite, but love them all. Beautiful colors . . . You always take such beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing your world. :)
Beautiful photos, as usual, Squirl. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Love and hugs to you, hon.
Thank you Squirl! I never get tired of my desktop. Between you and Swamp, you keep me covered with wonderful views for any mood I may be in.
These are so beautiful.
Nina, you get some really pretty yellows over there. But I would miss the oranges and reds if I left this area. Thank you, you know I love to share my pictures.
Ladybug, you are welcome, and thank you, thank you, thank you. Hope you're doing okay. Listen to SuperBoys giggles some for me. :)
KY Brat, we were commenting at the same time. Thanks! I love it that you use my pictures for your wallpaper.
Kittn, hope this helps you keep a little Michigan with you. Looking forward to next Wednesday. :)
Oh, Squirl, these are breathtaking. I'm gonna steal one (at least) for my Sunday Post. I did that last year, as I recall. We don't have ANY color like that around here this year :( I especially love the roads. And the bridge. I love them all.
Oh Squirl they're gorgeous. Between you and Nilbo you're keeping me in Autumn. Like Kittn says, it's still mainly green over here - and wet. I am looking forward to the leaves changing. No Emus round here though!
Susie, thanks! And you know I'm proud and honored to have you use any of my pictures for a post. I wasn't sure we were going to get good color at first, I just had to be patient. :)
Platypus, thank you! Michigan is pretty lucky with its fall colors most years. Look like Nils' had a good season up there, too. It seems kinda funny that the place with the Emus is just up the street from the place with the llamas. :)
Those are great, they remind me of home. Okay, so MI isn't IL, but they're close enough! Autumn here is kind of blah, it's cool to look at the mountains for little spots of yellow, though.
Courtney, I didn't realize how nice this part of the continent is until last year through other bloggers. I would really miss it if I ever left.
Wowza -- looks like you put a color-intensifying filter on or something! That first one is just almost vibrating with color! Stunning!! And without my camera, I'm getting no pictures of the colors here, so thank you for taking them vicariously for me. Sending love and a big hug.
What a great series! Such nice photos.
I really enjoyed the second one - with the barn - and the last one - with the curved road.
Really nice compositions on those. :-)
The heart reflection was pretty neat too.
Eclectic, the colors around here just blow me away. I love them. I'm sorry you don't have a camera to capture your fall extravaganza. I'll take that love and hug and I'll send some right back.
Danielle, thanks! I tried to cut back on how many pictures, but I couldn't stand not to post them.
Bone, wow, so that's what is. I'll keep my distance next time. Hope I didn't piss it off too much. :)
The reds. OMG the reds.
Kranki, I love the reds! But every time I try to pick out a favorite color, well, I just can't. Thanks!
I'm just stopping by to look at your photos again.
They look even better the second time around. I think because this time I'm looking at them in a darkened room, so they seem to glow more.
Very nice.
Thanks, Danielle! I'm so glad you enjoyed them. :)
THOSE are the most AMAZING fall pictures I'VE EVER seen!!!!
Seriously, you should submit them to a calendar company.
Thinking of you today, honey. Hope all is well.
As usual yourpics are fabulous. I think your fall has been much more picturesque than ours!
Nice!
Found your site from Susie's (because of that gorgeous fall photo), and I was wondering where in Michigan you found such beautiful colors? I'm in Sterling Heights, and we missed all of that!! Your pictures are wonderful!
Thanks for posting the pics - and I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. Take care!!
SQUIRL.
Saw one of these on Susies blog and had to come here and see the rest of them..
Your pictures. They're like a holiday.
tshsmom, thank you so much! I thought about using Photoshop elements to make a calendar for Ichabod's grandmother this Christmas. We'll see how ambitious I am. :)
Susie, having a bit of a rough one, but trying to keep it together. Thanks for asking. :)
GWB, so nice to see you. Thank you. Are you checking out all of the back roads?
Sylvana, thank you very much.
Lawyerchik, welcome! These pictures come from the West side of the state. Thank you.
Kittn, I'm glad you're home!
Amy, thank you. Come vacation here any time you want. :)
Are you a real photographer, because you should be if your not...you take the most beautiful pictures....and thanks for sharing them.....
Judy, I take pictures because I love to. I only started in July 05. All I can say is that I'm very lucky with what I see when the camera is handy. :)
Wow, amazing pictures. I didn't realize Michigan was so scenic. I am going to put it on my list of places to see (and photograph).
Thanks DMM, I love your blog name. Michigan is really pretty year round. Please bring your camera.
