For a change of pace, I think I'll moon you guys
Taking pictures always makes me feel good. So when I saw that huge harvest moon out Friday night I couldn't resist.
Then, on Saturday, Ichabod and I took a little walk. I got fairly close to a blue heron. I would've kicked myself if I'd forgotten my camera.
Here's a shot of the channel. The sky was so blue and I love the way it reflected on the water.
I know this isn't Bucky's site but I couldn't resist adding this picture. It's a bunch of box elder bugs swarming on a bit of bird shit on the railroad track.
I only meant to take a picture of the cat. But I love the rainbow effect that came through.
Thanks again, everyone, for all the prayers and nice words. It was very much appreciated.

Nice photos!
I especially liked the one with the cat. Nice rainbow effect!
:o)
Thanks, MD, that's my favorite, too. I love your profile pic. Those guys are too cute.
That describes the day I had today, "bunch of box elder bugs swarming on a bit of bird shit." I'll let you guess if I was the bird shit or the bunch.
(ok, it wasn't that bad, I just liked that part of the line)
Mr B, I guess some days you're the bunch and some days you're the bird shit. Life's weird that way. :P
I think the bug photo is really cool. Not just anyone would take pictures of bugs. But our Squirl does and I love it. Maybe because I'm wierd and do that too. :)
The harvest moon was just gorgeous the other night . . . but I never have my camera when I need it.
I love the photos...especially the cat...so cool!
o ya...like the bug photos too...hahaha Mr. B...
hhhhhhhhhh8
That was typed courtesy of Thirteen walking on my keyboard. Does that make him a hater?
The moon was out all huge and golden Saturday night when Jess and I were out getting lost, I mean, picking out out kittens. I was too busy looking for street signs to snap a pic, though. :)
I saw Squirl's moon, I saw Squirl's moon!! And it's cute and round, and shiny.
I LOVE blue skies and you always take such great photos!
So That's what those bugs are! I'd never seen them until we moved here to MN and I was really puzzled what the 'mutant ladybugs' were doing all swarmed and gross-like on the plants.
It is so nice that you saw a heron while you were out - AND that you had your camera! The channel did look very blue in that picture of it reflecting the sky.
It is nice to have you back posting photos.
OK, I hate bugs more than I hate Marie Osmond singing 'Paper Roses', but that is the COOLEST freakin' picture!
Nina, I'm glad you like bug pictures, too. I almost stopped taking pictures of the moon as they never usually turn out. I kinda liked this one.
Lori, thanks!
Bucky, so Thirteen is a little hater, huh? This Friday will be the day for both of the kittens. And I suppose that getting your kittens was more important than getting pictures of the moon.
Eclectic, tee hee, that's what happens when you love you some brownies, plenty of moon to show. :)
Thank you so much, Lynn!
Danielle, maybe you didn't have box elder trees before. There are plenty around here. The bugs aren't dangerous, just a bit of a nuisance.
Saturday was a great day for walking and taking pictures. You can see that they're different now that I've moved. And I'm glad to be back to posting pictures again. Feels much better.
Jim, I don't like bugs, either. I just like interesting pictures. This one was just too much fun. The one that I didn't post is the dead deer in the water. Not even sure why I took it, but I just felt that I had to.
Love the harvest moon. Beautiful!
The bug pic kinda creeped me out, though. *shudder*
Love and hugs to you, Miss Squirlie.
I stopped by for the RFS Blog Awards. I'm sorry to hear about your mum, I can't even imagine. I wish you the best.
Love the pictures, the Boxelders are priceless!
The peace of nature always soothes my soul too.
Have you moved yet?
These are great. There's a blue heron on the pond/swamp just down the road, and I never have my camera with me. You inspire me to remember it. Glad you're out taking pix :)
I tried to comment last night but my router stopped working. Here's what I tried to post:
Ladybug, I think this is the best moon picture I've ever taken. The bug one was kinda fun. Especially since it was on bird poop. :)
Thank you so much, love and hugs back to you.
Kept Woman, thank you.
tshsmom, yes, nature is very soothing. We moved the first Saturday that my mom was in the hospital. It was so busy and there are loads of boxes still unpacked, but at least I was in town while she was in the hospital. That was so much easier.
Fabulous pictures as always, Squirl! We saw the big Harvest Moon, too. It was beautiful! I wish I had had time to talk a walk in the sunshine this past weekend. We're having another cold, rainy day here. I hope we don't lose all the fall leaves from the trees just yet...
EW! Those bugs! Just ew!
Susie, looks like we were commenting at the same time. I hope you do get a picture of the heron. I could see a really great Sunday post coming from that. :)
CK, I'm sorry you didn't get to take advantage of the nice weather. We have some really crappy weather coming up now. I hope the same thing about the leaves.
Kranki, oops, sorry. I thought they were kinda pretty. That picture makes them look a lot bigger than they are.
Kittn, thanks! ;)
Hi Squirl, so sorry to hear about your loss.
Your shot of the moon is great.
Thank you, August. :)
I miss you, too, Kittn. It's going to be waaaay too quiet around work for the next couple of weeks.
I got out my new camera, I thought wow what a moon....I snapped it, and it looked like a dot......yours is a large dot..... lol.... I always love your pictures....
Great photos, as usual!
Cameras can be a healing tool. In fact, I just dragged mine out and shot a few. They weren't anywhere as good as yours.
Hugs to you!
Bone, thanks! And you weren't kidding about that headless rat.
Judy, thanks! Mine usually just look like dots. I have a friend with an old Sony digital that even shows the craters on the moon.
Thank you, Sierrabella. I was just over at your site and that's a gorgeous picture. I forgot to mention it as I was thinking more about your missing your husband. My heart goes out to you.
When our car caught fire and we had to walk home I told Dan that it would be a great outdoor trip if I had my camera. About two minutes later we walked past a Creek with a Blue Heron that was about ten feet away. Figures...
Just stopping by to say "hi." Much love and many hugs to you, Squirl.
Courtney, I've been caught without my camera more times than I'd like to admit. Really ticks me off when I miss a good picture opportunity.
Ladybug, thank you so much. Love and hugs right back down there to you, too, hon!
Hey Squirl!
RPS has a couple of nuts over there you may need
you know, for your winter food supply.
;)
Hi Squirl! I think she means "YPS" not "RPS" -- I do that sometimes too, like right and left get crossed somewhere between my brain thinking of which index finger to move and my index finger actually typing.
Squirly-Girl--I was thinking of you today and wanted to send you some lovin's and a good warm hug!
((((((SQUIRL)))))))
I hope you're OK!
Love!
DL, those guys have always been a couple of nuts over there. ;)
Eclectic, thanks for the clarification. I'm appalled by the terrible spelling I sometimes use when blogging. The typos suck, too. I just don't seem to see them until I hit publish.
Kittn, I miss you, too, hon. Come home soon. Don't move over there, okay?
Effie, thank you so much. I'm doing better than I thought I would, but I still have my moments. Thanks for the hugs.
