I blog because I must

My sister, Bucky, promised to taunt me if I didn't put up another post. And she did. So here are some pictures I've been taking and haven't posted yet.

There are leopard frogs out in one of the spots where I like to look at nature. Here's one of the little buggers.

DSCN2650

Then, a couple of weeks ago, Ichabod and I took a nice long walk down to John Ball Park Zoo. There were a lot of geese there. Some of them had to do the big wing flap, occasionally, which cracked me up. Most of my pictures were blurred as I never knew which goose was going to do it next. Here are the best ones I could get.

And it appears that the geese and ducks can peacefully coexist.

And this was my John Ball Park WTF picture.

Now I'm going to subject you to random flower pictures.

Most of these look better when you click on them and choose All Sizes in Flickr. :)

Oh no you don't... I'm not fallin' for it again. That li'l froggie's a statue, isn't he? And those animated geese and ducks? Yeah, TOTALLY fake -- I spotted it a mile off. I'm not even gonna start with the silk flowers...

**scuttling away, giggling**

"There are leopard frogs out in one of the spots..."

Intentional pun?

And WTF is right with the swan ride. If I come for a visit, can we go out on that? Huh? Huh? Can we?

Eclectic, I am laughing right this second. That's a good'un.

Bucky, no, pun absolutlely not intended. Thanks for pointing it out.

We can go for a swan ride if the weather is good. Those stupid things are $5 for 15 minutes. I didn't even know until I just now went to find their link. :)

I love the geese series. Your amusement at it, made it fun for me too.

The frog was almost too perfect. I agree with eclectic - it must be a statue. You can't pull this over on me.

The flowers are lovely. Do you know what they all are? It would be fun to have them labeled. I was particularly intrigued by the ruffly ones. They look so unusual.

Danielle, I have a few more frog pictures, but aside from being in different places, with more grass around, they're pretty much the same.

The flowers: the first one is a dahlia, the second is a begonia, the fourth one is of rosebuds from a bush that's called Playboy. I think the frilly ones are some kind of dianthus. Don't quote me, but I think they are. My friend, whose garden I use, said they were given to her. She was just told, "you'll like them". So, I can only guess at what they really are, except pretty. :)

Oops, Lynn, I missed you while I was posting. Welcome! I think you came over from my sister's site.

Thanks! I shamelessy promote my photography here even though I'm still a novice. :)

Soozie, you know, when I hadn't updated I hadn't thought about people still having to see the spider pictures. Glad you're enjoying the flower pictures better.

Sweet dreams! :)

Is that flower black and white, with pink in it? I've never seen one like that.

And that frog is SO COOL! I've never seen one so spotty and pretty. (Still don't wanna touch it, though. Blech.)

Hahahahahaha, took me a second, but I got the musical reference, Mr B.

Ladybug, it's actually a red that's so dark it almost looks black. It's really beautiful.
And, as cute as I think that frog is, I wouldn't touch it.

Bone, I always think that when a bunch of birds fly overhead. Ichabod tells me that birds are involuntary shitters. Sometimes it seems premeditated, though. Did you ever hear the story about when Bucky got bombarded?

All done scuttling for now, huh, Eclectic? Maybe I'll play some Stevie Ray anyway.

tshshmom, geese make me a little nervous ever since one came after me. Good thing I had a snow shovel in my car at the time. :)

Although all your photos are wonderful, I love your 'WTF' photo! I love that angle and the subject matter (I've always had a 'thing' for swans).

I loved Leopard Frogs - we used to have them in New York where I grew up, but they weren't green like yours...ours were sort of mossy-brown.

Wow, Squirl, again wonderful pictures more than worth publishing! You need to be a freelance photographer for National Geographic.

Jim, tee hee, isn't that a funny picture. Actually, I see swans on a fairly regular basis, but they're too far away for me to get a good picture. We have some frogs that are really, really green with yellow circles on their cheeks. I had some pictures of them up last year. Never got over there with my camera again.

Mr B, will the Red Hots get jealous if you eat Skittles?

Nick, thanks, you're very flattering. All I know is that I love taking pictures and never want to quit. :)

Thanks, Kranki, they blend in so well it's almost hard to see them. I nearly stepped on a number of them.

I'm glad you like those geese as they're Canadian geese. :)

Ern, I'm glad that you're not getting tired of my pictures. Even when I have a story to go along with them I still feel as if I've turned this into a photoblog.

I have a new set of photos I just took last weekend of manhole covers around downtown. Then there's another idea I have but that'll only be two or three pictures.

And those spots really do stick out. Thanks for the coffee bean idea, I couldn't think what they reminded me of. :)

Those frogs are really pretty cool. And I love those roses. Thanks!

Nina, you are so sweet, thanks! And Eclectic usually keeps us laughing, doesn't she?

Kittn, mebbe you and Jim should go out scanning for man-holes together or, um, something...
You just try scuttling out of here, see how far it gets ya. :)

Oopseedaisee, I wonder just how the frog would handle a swan ride? Thanks!

Ok, I could have swore I commented on the frog and flowers and pretty pictures and the geese, but I guess not.

Boy am I flakey!

Ok.

So.

Um.

I really like that cool frog. It most certainly reminds me of a leopard.

Also, the black ruffly one is so neat. It reminds me of a very ruffly dress whit a white hem. I so want to wear it.
