Training was grueling, but the training site wasn't
Well, last post was fall colors. Now we've had snow. Looks like it's not going to stop my using my camera. This is the place where my training last week was held. This place is gorgeous year-round, but I hadn't really thought about how great it looks in the snow.
This is overlooking the lake.
The main house, in the old days, before it was used for meetings.
And the training room buildings, one of which was a boathouse in the old days.
As always, they look better when viewed in the large size.

At least you got to train someplace purty. I go to a place in Orlando for training sometimes that has a nice, natural layout like this one.
Your snow pictures make the fact of the snow suck a little less...just a little, mind you. ;)
Love, love, LOVE the pictures!!! Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving, Squirl!!!
Hi Squirl, you pictures this week (as always) have been wonderful. Looks like a nice place for a training session.
Yes, Bucky, just a little. :-) The drive down was terrible. The highway was down 30 mph most of the way. And it's just starting for the season.
Eclectic, thanks! You have a great trip and a great Thanksgiving, too!
August, thanks! It is a nice place to train. They also serve very good food there. :-)
Chia, you need to see it in winter some time. Especially when they decorate the lodge for Christmas. It's gorgeous. Believe me, I wasn't inclined to jump in the water that day.
DSCN1020 for my money. But still, brrrr.
From the gold and red of autumn to the snowy white of winter. I forget how quickly the breathtaking splendor of nature can change. Thanks for the superb photographs to remind me.
Beautiful pics as usual.
I know a lot of people hate it, but I LOVE those cloudy winter days where everything looks like a black and white photo. Any splash of color seems out of place. OK, I'm weird; I admit it.
Mr B, brrrr is right.
SS Nick, thank you. I hope life is going better for you.
Kranki, thanks!
tshsmom, there is beauty in it. I just don't like three to four solid months of gray skies and snow. :-)
You have such a way of taking us where you go. Unpretentious, but always striking, photographs. I feel like I'm right there. Brrrr.
Thanks, Susie! I like to tell stories through pictures. Go get some tea and warm up now. That is, if the VBD hasn't spilled all your tea on the floor again. :-)
Time for the long undies and hot chocolate.
I love snow pictures....;you took some great ones.....thanks
Squirl, I love your photo essays...but please don't ever take us on a journey to the bathroom.
Just a request.
okojurl, rhymes with "Durn it, girl!"
I think it would be even lovelier with about 2 ft of snow...teehee! I love your pics!
Happy Monday!
Mr B, you ain't kiddin'. brrrr
Judy, I guess somebody has to like snow. :-) Glad you liked the pictures.
Bucky, of all people you're the one requesting that I NOT take you on my journey into the bathroom. hmmmmm Durn it girl.
Effie, you're probably right, but then I wouldn't want to be driving down there. How much snow do you guys have?
You know, I viewed them in the large size and the 2 that really caught my eye were 1019 and 1020.
One of those is the one with the tree trunks and limbs. I always love the shape of trees, and the limbs can be so striking.
The other one was the one walking up the path to the building where you see a little bit of someone's head in the bottom. I always like pathway pictures, and this one looks neat with the way the sun is coming through the trees but there is still snow coming down.
Danielle, I love how you go into such detail to describe what you like about pictures. You make me take a closer look.
I like the shapes of trees and limbs, too. That is something that's easily seen in the winter.
Oh our snow didnt stick, maybe I need to ship Hermione up to you so she can play in yours.. hehe.. shes not barking as much anymore.. no really..
Jess, our snow didn't stay either. But tomorrow we're supposed to get 2 to 4 inches of the fluffy white crap. She could have some fun in that. :-) No way to de-bark her, huh?
The snow went away--hopefully we won't have any for a couple weeks--just in time for Christmas---maybe a week prior so I feel like shopping!
wuplblp
Effie, that Alberta Clipper is heading our way so we're supposed to be getting more starting tomorrow. I don't need snow to get me into the mood for Christmas. But then I am, originally, from the South. :-)
happy thanksgiving
