Early morning by the Grand River

This morning Ichabod and I woke up early, before 6:30. I suggested going to breakfast. The only decent restaurant open that early is Wolfgang's. Not Wolfgang Puck's folks, just a local breakfast/lunch place.

I had brought my camera with me as I thought there might be a good sunrise. There wasn't. But Ichabod suggested going for a ride by the river. Here are some morning shots along the river. If you can get it to work, most of these look better if you click on them and check out the larger size.

Then I took some pictures of this bridge hoping to get the reflection. It didn't turn out as well as I would've liked, but in the large size you can see it better.

The river had flooded recently, frozen, then receded. If you look at the large photos you can see the ice where it was higher and is cracking as the water's gone down.

The reflection is better in the large version of this one.

Lots of Annie Pics!

I promised you more pictures of Annie. There are a lot of them here. Maybe more than you wanted to see but I couldn't cut any of them. I love her so much and think she's so darn cute.

Credit must given where due, though. I DID NOT TAKE THESE PICTURES. I wish I could say I had but Ichabod's mom took these and graciously allowed me to use them. Some of them are kind of small. You can try clicking on them and choosing all sizes. Hope you enjoy them.

Ichabod's mom had this perfectly lined up when Annie bumped her. Then the little shit ran all over and messed up the perfect print. :-)

Another "test"

I saw the most gorgeous sunrise EVER this morning. There were delicate pinks, golds and blue. There were three perfect rays coming up from the sun. But I was in the car going to work and couldn't take pictures. I was bummed that I couldn't share. So, instead, I decided to share my five personality factors. Most of them do sound like me. I'm disgustingly middle-of-the-road and normal (normal-sounding anyway) according to this.

Anyway, Happy Friday!

Your Five Factor Personality Profile
Extroversion:
You have medium extroversion. You're not the life of the party, but you do show up for the party.Sometimes you are full of energy and open to new social experiences. But you also need to hibernate and enjoy your "down time."
Conscientiousness:
You have low conscientiousness.Impulsive and off the wall, you don't take life too seriously.Unfortunately, you sometimes end up regretting your snap decisions.Overall, you tend to lack focus, and it's difficult for you to get important things done.
Agreeableness:
You have medium agreeableness. You're generally a friendly and trusting person. But you also have a healthy dose of cynicism. You get along well with others, as long as they play fair.
Neuroticism:
You have low neuroticism. You are very emotionally stable and mentally together.Only the greatest setbacks upset you, and you bounce back quickly.Overall, you are typically calm and relaxed - making others feel secure.
Openness to experience:
Your openness to new experiences is high.In life, you tend to be an early adopter of all new things and ideas. You'll try almost anything interesting, and you're constantly pushing your own limits.A great connoisseir of art and beauty, you can find the positive side of almost anything.

Gotta share another sunset with y'all

I was over at a friend's house yesterday at sunset and this is what I saw. If you want to check them out in Flickr I think they look best at the medium size.

Jess has complained that there isn't enough sax and violins here. So this is for her.

A new bird for me

I was sitting at a friend's house today looking out at the bird feeders. There were cardinals, juncos, downy and hairy woodpeckers, and various sparrows. Those are nice but fairly common at a feeder.

Then we went out for a ride. I forgot my camera so the pictures below are from after I got home. They're not quite as good as what I saw over the river. But even if I'd had my camera with me I wouldn't have had time to get a picture of the northern harrier that I saw down by the river. I've never seen one of them before that I know of. It was pretty exciting.

Here's what the sky looked like today.

I really do know how to read

You know, sometimes you read something wrong and it just ends up being funny. Well, yesterday I was in line at the grocery store. There was quite a wait so I glanced over at the magazine rack. Part of the wire rack was covering the middle of Jessica Alba's name. Do you think my brain saw Jessica Alba? Heck no, it read it as Jessica Labia.

I had a good private laugh over that one. Then, still waiting, I checked out another magazine. There was a picture of Brittany Spears leaning over with some loose tube top on. The caption was SAG Awards; Brittany Boogies. Sorry, my brain read it as Sag award, Brittany's boobies.

Either I need more sleep or I need to stop reading the magazines at the checkout lines.

What kind of soul are you?

You Are a Dreaming Soul

Your vivid emotions and imagination takes you away from this world
So much so that you tend to live in your head most of the time
You have great dreams and ambitions that could be the envy of all...
But for you, following through with your dreams is a bit difficult

You are charming, endearing, and people tend to love you.
Forgiving and tolerant, you see the world through rose colored glasses.
Underneath it all, you have a ton of passion that you hide from others.
Always hopeful, you tend to expect positive outcomes in your life.

Souls you are most compatible with: Newborn Soul, Prophet Soul, and Traveler Soul

A post about nothing, really

Okay, I'm tired of seeing an old post up, too. I've been kinda busy lately and just haven't made enough time for blogging. On the up side, I've almost finished the 11th book in the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. Yes, this is book eleven and there were two prequels. When will he ever conclude this story? When people, like me, get tired of buying expensive hard cover books as soon as they come out because we just HAVE to know what comes next in the story. I'm still buying, and he's still writing and selling.

I saw Annie tonight but I have no pictures. she's about twice as big as when I first met her. She's getting more bitey, too. But she also has so much more expression in her little puppy face. I'm still in love.

Hope everyone has had a great start to the weekend!
