More snow

Yes, we've still been getting snow and cold temps. This winter has not been my favorite. But the snow this morning was heavy and slow. I tried to get a picture of it stuck to the trees, but my camera doesn't work so well in the dark. Looks like the flash caught the close-up snowflakes.

Well, I'm posting them anyway. I should really post a picture of the last from last spring when it was flowering. Just for contrast and all, you know. :-)

If you click on this and look at all sizes, the large will actually show you the trees.

This one is a cool effect. Check out the large size if you get a chance.

Here's the tree that will be covered in beautiful blossoms in spring.

This is more what it will look like in a few months.

Not much to post

I don't feel like writing about the crappy weather again. So, when all else fails, post a test!

What kind of soul?
You Are a Prophet Soul

You are a gentle soul, with good intentions toward everyone.
Selfless and kind, you have great faith in people.
Sometimes this faith can lead to disappoinment in the long run.
No matter what, you deal with everything in a calm and balanced way.

You are a good interpreter, very sensitive, intuitive, caring, and gentle.
Concerned about the world, you are good at predicting people's feelings.
A seeker of wisdom, you are a life long learner looking for purpose and meaning.
You are a great thinker and communicator, but not necessarily a doer.

Souls you are most compatible with: Bright Star Soul and Dreaming Soul

A little less wintery

This week's weather has been worse than the one in the previous post. I'm about done with the cold and the snow. Then Tweety left a comment and gave me the idea to post some flower pictures. Don't know about y'all but I'm ready for something that's not wintery.

Tulip

And I think this one is my favorite. It's not a crop, it was shot this way.

Hope that warmed you up a bit. It cheered my spirits just to look at them.

Mother Nature can take a hike, if she can find her snowshoes

I see it's been a week and a half since I updated here. I guess I'll just have to post some pictures then.

One week ago today, Tuesday, it rained really hard and almost every bit of snow was gone. Overnight, as the temperatures dropped, the rain turned to a thick coating of ice on the roads. Then very dry snow came down and was constantly being moved by winds up to 50 mph.

For some reason I thought driving 30 miles to work on Wednesday morning was a good idea. I leave the house at 6 am and it's like night out. The dark, combined with total white-outs, on top of the ice, made my drive a living hell. How I made it without an accident or going in the ditch is something for which I should thank my lucky stars.

Anyway, I decide to snap a few pics after I got home. You can kind of see how the snow drifted. Some places it's still bare and in some it was up to my knees.

You can see my boot prints in the path I dug out for myself. Oh, and the garage that needs a paint job. :-)
Picture 005

Check out how it stuck on the fence and chairs, but it's right down to the bricks below.
Picture 006

I would've liked a better angle on this shot, but I was too chicken to crouch down in the snow. That drift was up to my knees.
Picture 007

Just another angle from the safety and warmth of my living room.
Picture 008

The storm even tried to coat my door. :-)
Picture 009

We had rain yesterday, taking the snow down some, but not all the way. Now they're talking big snow for tomorrow again. Can we just skip weather on Wednesdays???
