A Friday drive and a very short Sunday drive
On Friday I went out with a friend to the usual places to check out the wildlife. We saw turkey vultures, red-tail hawks, sandhill cranes, and bufflehead ducks. It was the first time I've seen turkey vultures this year.
I tried to get some pictures. The crane pictures aren't that great. Makes me want a better camera already. Here's one.
This one just looks like a water/weed shot. The little dot kind of toward the top against a cloud was my attempt to get a shot of a turkey vulture. But you have to click on it and check out the Large Size in Flickr if you're interested.
I couldn't resist a shot of the sun. I love the rainbows it makes.
And this one, with the buds on the tree, makes me think of spring.
Then, today, Ichabod and I went for a drive after breakfast by the river again. This is how it looked three weeks ago. Now, instead of ice, we have floods.
I tried to get shots of this pair of mallards. This one you really have to click on and view the large size if you want to see them.
And this is actually a road. I started getting pissy with Ichabod when he started to drive into the water. You can see it's taken through the windshield. And those ripples are because we're quickly backing out of the water-covered road.

Wow! That's a lot of water! What a difference a few weeks makes. We are still in frozen land here, I'm looking forward to the thaw.
I'm glad you got to see some neat birds. :-)
Danielle, I saw snow pictures from your area from just last week. I'd imagine you're still pretty frozen there. We've had some pretty cold winds here lately that are making me anxious for spring. All the birds are making me feel the same way. Thanks!
Yeah Squirl pictures . . . I love the sun picture too. The buds on the trees means spring. Thanks Squirl.
Nina, thanks! I appreciate that. Sometimes I wonder if the pictures are lame, or if people are getting tired of them. But then I get comments like yours and it encourages me. Too bad for the people who don't wanna see pictures, I guess. ;-)
And spring is in the air!
YOU got pissy? I don't believe that for a minute. Why, that would be like ME getting . . . oh, OK, never mind ;)
LOVIN' the buds.
Susie, yeah, just like that. :-)
And, to paraphrase Mr B's favorite equation:
Buds = Spring
Yeah, Susie - can you imagine Squirl getting pissy?
Not our sweet li'l Squirl.
Of course, she is the brute who used to spank me...
Yeah, Bucky, I was such an ogre of a big sister. At least I didn't give you corkers or fart in your general direction.
Not that you're admitting in public, anyway.
My ver word is now kirogado.
Domo kirogado, Mr. Roboto.
Um, Bucky, we're not going to talk about that, mkay?
Wow, you talk Japanese real good.
Holy cow, that's a road?? THAT's a wholelotta water! Great pictures!! And Bucky's just complaining because you don't spank her that way anymore.
Eclectic, yeah, aren't the flood pictures cool? Thanks!
And, really Shari, we are not into that, kind of stuff in our family.
Bwahahaha! That's not what Bucky told me...
;)
Wait, wait, what kinda crap is Bucky spreadin' around now?
And ask her about the time that she spanked me.
Chia, boys always want to play in puddles. Yes, it was a beautiful, albeit cold, weekend. Thanks!
Nikki, so glad you enjoyed the bridge picture. And how could I not comment about that anonymous asshole. Sorry that happened.
I will do my best to get Bucky to keep up with the BH posts. But, you know, I never could get that girl to mind. ;-)
Maybe you should try spanking her again, Squirl!!
(I crack myself up sometimes....)
You people are perverts.
It's a good thing you have me around, you know, for the sake of purity.
WOW! Look at all that water. Spring has sprung!
Eclectic, what is this about cracks???
Bucky, our own Ms Crocker here to ensure our purity. Hey, who's laughing over there?
Kranki, yeah, plenty of water. If you check out the post to which I linked you'll see a picture of the boat, the Grand Lady. You cannot drive to it right now. I hope it doesn't launch itself.
I love it when you take drives! You return with such wonderful pictures.
Nick, thank you. I always hope people will like my pictures. :-)
Great pics, as always, Squirl. I love the rainbow sun rays, too.
Love and hugs to you, dear.
Ladybug, thank you. And love and hugs right back. :-)
tshsmom,, you are so right. I love to see them soar, though.
