Anticipation
Yes, I'm anxiously awaiting getting my Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows book. If I'm still awake at 11:00 I'll go to the local bookstore where my book is reserved, buy my voucher, then take it home at midnight. Otherwise I'll pick up at 9:00 tomorrow morning when the store reopens.
You won't see me around much this weekend. That's a guarantee. :-)
The other thing I'm anticipating is my vacation that starts next week Saturday. Ichabod and I are going to Alaska. We're going to drive. It should be an interesting trip. We're going to drive along the northern part of the country and then head up along the coast in Canada.
I'll be flying back, as I'm only take two weeks off and Ichabod's taking three. He wants to go all the way to the Arctic Ocean. Then he'll drive back much faster than he can with me. I need to stop more often and sooner at the end of the day.
Anyway, I'll be back to blogworld Monday. Have a great weekend.

I don't think our book will arrive tomorrow. :( I pre-ordered from Amazon with free shipping. Last week they sent an email saying I would have to upgrade my shipping for them to guarantee that I'd have the book on the release date. WHAT A RIPOFF! They've never pulled this on me before.
Are you going south or north of the Great Lakes?
Wow, what a bummer! That really sucks. I've heard that lots of stores are carrying it, too. Too bad you can't just go out and buy one from a local store and refuse the Amazon one. I always thought it was just the regular bookstores that carried them, but lots of stores are getting in on the action.
We're much closer to heading south of the Great Lakes. I'm not looking directly at the map, so I'm not sure of the exact route. But north would be quite a haul.
I'm SOOOOOO excited! I mean, HP's nice and all, but you're traveling west, and north, and that means I get to see you!!! I can't wait!!! I'll email you!!!
I take it you didn't get my e-mail from this morning?
;-)
‘arry Potter and a drive to Alaska! That’s a lot to anticipate. I hope fun results from both.
Yes have a safe trip and enjoy the book. I havent read the books yet but I have seen the first two movies. Tshsmom you have the books?? I should borrow them from you. I love reading. Besides my crocheting. LOL.. Squirrel that is great you get to see Alaska. I would love to go and see it there sometime. I have been told its beautiful.
You must post and tell us what you thought. I finished it less than an hour ago and want to read it again. I personally thinks it's the best one of the lot.
We went to a local grocery store where there was a short line AND the lowest advertised price. We were home and reading by 12:30.
You're going to absolutely love Alaska!
You have been tagged with the Rocker Girl blogger award. I dont remember if you did this one or not. Sorry if you did.
Nick, well I sure enjoyed the first one, reading the book, that is. I think the trip will be fun, too.
Tweety, this is the best of all of the books. You should read them. Thanks!
Platypus, I don't want to say any more than that I really enjoyed it and agree with you about it being the best. I will be reading it again. I love that you've finished yours already, too.
Courtney, I know I didn't pay the lowest price, but the store is only three blocks from my house. They were very orderly in that they sold certificates before midnight. Then we lined up and they handed out the books at midnight. We were way back in line and made it home by 12:10. It's the only time I've ever picked up the book at midnight. But since it was the last I thought it might be fun. Didn't see many costumes, there was excitement in the air.
When I went to an Anchorage tourist site I saw something about the geocacheing that you've been doing! Looking forward to going there and seeing Alaska.
Tweety, I'll have to come by and check it out.
As soon as I'm done with tonight's round of the blogassfear, I'm back to Harry. Can't wait to see your photos of Alaska!
htgt, I was too selfish to make the rounds. Had to finish the book first. Let me know what you think of it.
Tardist and I debated calling you, repeatedly, today while you were trying to read the new HP.
Of course, we value our lives and thus did not call.
Not you, too, Squirl! Has the whole world shut down to read Harry Potter?
It's 5:45 p.m., Sunday, July 22, 2007 - I have finished reading the last Harry Potter book. Hurry up, Squirl, so we can talk about it!
Bucky, you chose well, grasshopper.
Nick, I started reading Harry Potter back in 99. There were three books written, and I'd bought the first. Well, I could hardly wait to get the next two. Since then I've had to wait for every one to be written. Then I couldn't wait to finish each one as it came out. Now I've read the last one and am, overally, very happy.
htgt, I finished last night. E-mail me and tell me what you thought.
Squirl, drop by my 7/23 blog post to pick up your Schmooze Award
Well, you already know what I thought of the book - but Alaska! Wow!
I bet it is a really great time of year to go there. What a terrific trip. I can't say that I'd be up for all of that driving, but the end destination would be amazing.
I can't wait to hear about it and see photos. I have a feeling you'll have to do multiple posts to cover it all. :-) yay for us. ;-)
Oh fun fun fun! That is so exciting! Have a wonderful time.
Hugs,
Laurie
Nick, thanks! I'll have to get over there and pick it up. Then I need to find five other bloggers!
Danielle, I hope to lots of good pictures while I'm there. And I intend to take plenty of stops along the way to stretch my back out.
Laurie, thanks! Hugs back to you, too.
Ooooh, Alaska! Sounds lovely. I've always wanted to go there. Let me know if you drive through Vancouver.
Talk to you in two weeks and enjoy your trip. Have fun.
Maybe next time, Kranki, thanks!
Tweety, thank you. :-)
You've no doubt finished the book by now and everyone knows that Harry realizes that magic died with Doug Henning and becomes a Guatamalan pool hustler with a taste for the alcohol.
