Looking up

I've been lucky to be able to see some gorgeous sunrises on my way in to work. There was one, I think it was last Tuesday, that was so wonderful, but I wasn't at a spot where I could stop. So, it's not just being awake for sunrise, but being in the right place at the right time, too.

Anyway, I felt ready to share some, including a sunset. On the sunrises I tend to take two shots to make sure I get at least one I like. What the heck, I guess I'll post 'em all.

These first sunrise pictures were taken on the same day as the sunset that follows.

They’re all magnificent, Squirl, which is what your photography always is. As I scrolled down viewing the photos I thought, “That’s my favorite.” Then I’d see another and think, “Well, maybe that’s my favorite.” So finally I had to admit that I had no favorite: they are each superb.

Lynn, thanks for the comment. I know you've already seen them on Flickr.

Eclectic, wow, that's neat that you had such visceral reaction to the picture. Thanks!

Erin, thanks! Sounds like you like the same one as Shari. :-)

GORGEOUS!
I should really start taking the camera to work with me for sunrises. L has already got the sunsets covered at our house. ;)

Cathy, thanks! I'll see what I can do about the meme. Not sure there's much more I can say here that hasn't already been said. :-)

Thanks, Tweety. I'll have to head over and see those pictures of your trip.

Kranki, thanks!

Courtney, yes, I love your gorgeous mountain pictures. But I love being here on the lakeshore. Sunsets and sunrises just can't be beat here.

Danielle, I had almost forgotten that I'd taken the sunset pictures. I get more to look at sunsrise when I drive into work, so that sticks with me better.

JDR, I'm glad I was able to get the sunset. If I had an extra couple of stories on my house I could get even better ones. Thanks!
