Peonies '08
Well, surprise, surprise, I have more pictures of flowers from my garden. I think there are more blossoms this year than there were last year. But I was lucky enough last Saturday morning to get pictures with good rain droplets on them.
Here's a crop. This one is on my desktop right now. If you click on these and choose All Sizes, they really are much cooler in the large size.

Our neighbour in Detroit used to jar all of her urinary excretions to water her peonies with. It wasn't until I was 8 that I realized they were "peonies" and not called "pee on me's".
Those cost extra.
Hee, I remember you told me that story before. Hilarious!
I think it's time for me to whip out my peonies envy again.
Bucky, it just wouldn't be right if you didn't. :-)
Very nice, as usual, Ms. Squirl. When are you going to publish your book of flower photos?
Its looking real 'purty' over there!
Seems like you and Ichabod have really settled in.
Beeeautiful. Do your peonies get ants? I remember growing up the peonies were always covered in ants. I bet my teachers did not appreciate those peony bouquets as much as I thought they did! :-)
Nick, thanks! Don't know if I have the energy to actually put a whole book together. But you're so sweet.
Sierrabella, hi, so nice to see you! Thanks! Yes, I'm really loving the yard. He'd like to move back to Grand Rapids, but I think we're staying put for a while.
Jenski, yes there are ants. Lots of ants. They must be really sweet. Hope the anty peonies didn't affect your grades. :-)
Thanks!
Squirl these are just beautiful. I might go take a photo of whats out front and some one can give me advice on how to get rid of all that crap.. where I can have pretty flowers in my front yard..
How gorgeous!
What beautiful photos. Catching them with raindrops on them was really smart, because it definitely adds to the photos.
Tweety, thanks! I'll have to come over and check it out.
Danielle, thanks! I was really happy to catch those raindrops.
I've got peonies envy too!
L's mother gave us a couple of beautiful ones that we planted at our old house. Unfortunately, I forgot to dig them up when we moved. :(
I love the water drops on the blossoms!
tshsmom, shoot, too bad you didn't bring them with you. Of course, I have this because the previous people left it. :-)
Thanks!
Purty! Love the soft pink color.
Ok. I got my photo's of my front yard up and they are horrendous. They are just terrible...
Squirl, I just remembered so I had to come back and tell you: when I was a small kid in the West End of Louisville, Mrs. Dean, my next door neighbor often talked about her peonies and I always wanted her to put a saddle on one so that I could ride one.
