Garbled Grammar
Okay, Ichabod and I were having some fun with our Instant Messenger the other day. Don't expect any of this to make sense, but we had fun.
Ichabod Is a monster bigger than a ghost?
Squirl wow, it sounds like a very deep subject
Ichabod no, long
Squirl Oh, now I see
Ichabod what is the maximum depth of a subject
Ichabod Is it longer than a predicate?
Squirl On what do you predicate that question?
Ichabod I verb the noun
Squirl predicate is nominative
Ichabod I verb the noun in your preposition
Squirl Is that what you're preposing
Ichabod I nominate the predicate to verb the subject
Squirl It's always subject to that rule
Ichabod the accusative noun adverbly verbed the object
Squirl Who are you accusing?
Ichabod verbing preposition the noun
Squirl Well, you could just a NOUNce it

Hah! No gerunds?? I LOVE that! Grammatical puns and double entendres -- you would have fit right into my family growing up. Wordplay was a form of entertainment.
I ain't never seen nothing like that before. What it is?
Craig, don't never say you ain't seen nothin' less'n you wanna get your noun verbed.
A gerund is the same as a verbal noun, right?
As in: The sight of my dancing caused massive vomiting.
The word "dancing" would be the verbal noun/gerund, correct?
Is it wrong that I got kinda hot at the thought of your noun getting verbed?
Do you guys pun via text messages everyday? You must look forward to these exchanges.
WORD-play, Susie...not foreplay. This is SQUIRL's site and she's the classy sister, remember?
Helping words are always nice.

Eclectic, we grew up with that stuff, too. And Ichabod is very good with it.
Craig, it's mr double-negative himself.
Bucky, my mama always said, gerund is as gerund is doing.
Susie, I get my noun verbed whenever I can. :-)
Kranki, we do this kind of thing quite often. Uses a different part of the brain than normal work does. Keeps you thinking. And I love it.
Eclectic, yes, that's right. I'm the classy sister.
Mr B, thanks for the help!
The grammar's always cleaner on the other side of the tense
Thanks, Anon. Or should I say Ichabod?
So... is a monster bigger than a ghost?
*walking away feeling dumb*
Sierrabella, I guess we never answered that, did we? One of those unknowable things.
That made absolutely no sense, but it sure sounded like a lot of fun!
(Coincidentally, I recently said the same thing about midget porn.)
I LOVE grammer in the mornin! (albeit, it is almost 4 in the afternoon...)
I verb the noun in your preposition
ummmmm
sounds dirty
I don't care what they told you either susie
It's gonna be all the rage and take over the internet as new slang
Ladybug, it's not supposed to make sense. That's what's so fun about it. Nonsensicality.
Kitty, good luck on the verbing. Now I've Beach Boys in my head.
Effie, you have Internet! Yay! Grammar, it's not just for breakfast anymore.
Perdita, I could handle being responsible for that.
awww...wish I had those waysa with words 'alike that.
Uh oh! I've met my nerd match!
Ahhh, midget porn.
*speaks quietly to self*
"am
is
are
was
were
have
has
had
could
would
should
might
can
will
shall
may"
Wow getting your noun verbed . . .
Wondering what I am missing out on. :) Nina
Gerunds will be my undoing.
You are so funny Squirl. D and I play word games, but on a much lesser level, more like grade school level. LOL
GW, just keep practicing, it'll happen.
Ern, I thought you'd like a game like this.
Mr B, just what are you verbing over there?
Nanina, there's nothing like getting your noun verbed. Your husband's a doctor. Shouldn't he know about these kinds of things. Or is he bedridden?
Bucky, just try to keep one step ahead of the ings.
August95, this is all extemporanius. In fact, I was on a phone call to someone through this whole thing. I think it helped that I let my subconcious answer for me. I'm sure yours are just as good.
I try n I try....jus keepon drawin blanks ya know?
U R sweet to be so.... concerned....?(spellin'?...hode awn..let me duble check if that ain't the right word or not)...yea...concerned. Just that I try n I try....jus keepon drawin blanks ya know?
That's okay GW, please don't strain anything.
Good Advisin'...I 'jus may take some more v'cashun time...go see my English Therapist...etc.
Mr. Blogerrific, I always though it was the following:
am is are
was were
have has had
do does did
be...
... and I forget the rest.
I guess different teachers probably taught different versions, eh?
Danielle, when the student is ready, the teacher will be there. Wait, that's what you meant is it?
God....that made my head hurt!
GreatWhite, I hope not too bad. :-)
