Just flowers

Thought I might do a flower post today.

Here's one of a Teasel. They're a pretty weed and after they stop flowering they turn brown, but they stay forever.
Teasle

This one is a thistle. I think it's a Canadian Thistle.

This is Sweet Joe Pye Weed

These are Sweet Peas.

These make me think of one of our fellow bloggers, the Brown-eyed Susans. If you look at the large version of this picture you'll see the bee on one.

No deep thoughts, no brainy ideas today. Just flowers.

Very pretty flowers, Squirl.

A brainy idea might've killed 'em, so I'm glad you didn't have one of those.

Not just flowers, wild flowers! I so want to go hiking with you so you can show me how to distinguish all the wild flowers on the trail. They never really look like the ones in the pictures, so I need a flesh-n-blood field guide to point 'em out.

Flowers can stand up to lots of brainy ideas!

Oh, like you wouldn't pee in your yard if you had a place to hide.

Ladybug, thank you. Brainy ideas can be dangerous. ;-)

Hi Plum, I'm glad you stopped over and enjoyed the flowers! Hope everything's goin okay for you.

Eclectic, I use two or three books for both birds and flowers for just that reason. After so many years of finding them it finally sticks. If we're ever hiking in the same area I'd love to help identify for you.

Bucky, how many brainy ideas do your flowers have to withstand? Oh, I thought you were talking about Snickers.

Kitty, thanks! Some of those are from our little lunchtime excursions. Love getting that practice.

Squirl, Girl Guide!
Good job with the wildflower IDs.
I have enough trouble remembering human names, let alone plant names.
Nice pics!

Flowers do my heart and soul good. No deep thoughts required. You've reminded me of that old TV show, "Please Don't Pee on the Daisies." *what?*

Sierrabella, thanks. Along with many flower books, I've also had an older friend who knows more about flowers and birds than anyone I've ever met. Some of it had to rub off over the years.

Susie, so good to have you back. Glad you enjoyed the flowers. Yes, I think, in that show, that Doris Day did have brainy ideas on the daisies. :-)

I love teasels. We used to do craft projects with the brown ones. :)

Hi, Ern, I knew you liked flowers, too. I tried to get some pictures of bull thistles and purple loosestrife today but it was too windy to get a good picture.

Is that anything like bull pizzle?

Bucky and Kitty, do I need to give you two a time-out?

Kranki, thank you. So glad you're up to commenting. And glad that you enjoyed the flowers.

Nanina, thank you, too. I appreciate your compliment. My next post is not going to be as nice as flowers.

I love the name Sweet Joe Pye weed.

They are all just terrific looking.

I actually did a blog-and-run the other day, saw the pics, but didn't have time to comment, and it brightened up my day considerably.

The canadian thistle looks like it should be the head of hair for some cartoon character... or it looks very Dr. Seussian to me.

great pics!

August95, thank you. I'm just a beginner at this camera thing. I appreciate everyone's encouraging comments. Flowers are a good subject for me as I love them so much, too.

Danielle, thank you for the compliment. I'm glad they brightened your day. You know, there is something very Seussian about that. lol

Thats ok, nice flowers and I am completely stuck for blogging inspiration atm too. I love teasels and so does my cat. Unforunately they don't vaccuum up after he claws them to death (the dried ones I mean) so I have to pick up the teeny bits. fun. not.
