Foamhenge in Nunica
I was actually quite curious the first time I saw this. (No, Pokey, I'm not talking to you.) Here's the news article about it. I don't live very far from here so I thought I'd get a picture and share it with you.
Pretty cool stuff for Michigan. :-)

That is wild, talk about being creative. Out of foam, that is great.
I has assumed it was foam. Then Ichabod found the article that confirmed it. Kinda fun to have in the area.
That is spiffy lady.
And really, do you know how hard it is for me not to make open box comments.
Really.
Your mean.
I hope Clark Griswald doesn't knock it down ala "European Vacation!"
Kudos to Jess for self-restraint, but she's right of course -- it's almost impossible to resist! As to Foamhenge -- that's priceless! If mother nature won't grant your area something to attract tourists, then thank God for styrofoam!
Squirl, if you email me I'll answer your Q about religion and music. sbhhe@juno.com
Why is it that newspapers/websites whatever feel they can do a story without a photo when it's obviously needed? Would you not want to SEE the foam that is henged after reading about it?
(This is Spinal Tap!)
Jess, thanks. I don't mean to be mean. Go ahead and comment if it's really driving you nuts. :-)
Sierrabella, lol. I hope not, too. It's only foam but it is coated with stucco. That might slow a car down a little bit.
Eclectic, yes, thank god for styrofoam. I think it was a really cool idea. And Jess is showing remarkable restraint. I just sent you an e-mail. Thanks
Very interesting. And enviable. I must say, though, until I read the article, I'm thinking foam like soapsuds, shaving cream kinda foam. I know, that's dumb, but when I hear foam, that's where I go.
Do they have little people dancing around it like in This Is Spinal Tap? I would pay to see that.
So glad you provided a pic. Very cool!
Mr B, I see you snuck in while I was commenting. Then my internet connection flaked out. :-(
You're right. That story absolutely needed a picture. And, yes, I do think of Spinal Tap when I see this. :-)
Susie, I worked in plastics for a while so I guess I don't normally think of foam as in foamy. Does that make sense??
Kranki, no they don't. But I would pay to see that, too. Of course, it wouldn't be quite as funny as these are almost full-sized.
Jamie Dawn, thanks!
That is so cool! Some people have really interesting ideas sometimes....
Hi, Effie. I know. I've always been fascinated by Stonehenge but never thought to put one in my yard.
I'm sneaky that way. :)
Yes, you are Mr B. :-)
I wonder if they lined it up to coincide with the equinoxes and stuff, like the real Stonehenge?
tshsmom, I believe Kitty's right about it not being lined up but I'm not sure where she got the info. Kitty, yes the bald eagles do nest out there. I saw one almost land right across the street from me on that road.
You know, when I first saw the picture I thought it was a real stone circle. I know that there are bunches in the U.K. And I could've sworn that I saw something about them existing in the U.S., again, smaller versions.
bummer that it isn't authentic.
But interesting that the couple has made a bunch of different tranquility/peaceful spots on their property. That part is very cool.
Danielle, I first saw this display early last spring and Ichabod just found this article. I didn't know about the other stuff. Makes me want to go up and knock on their door and ask to see everything else. Of course, I might disturb their tranquility, too, who knows.
Yeah, I was wondering about that... ...how tranquil would it be if you suddenly had a bunch of people driving by to see your recreation of Stonehenge?
Danielle, exactly!
Kitty, no rain, no dance. No open box dance.
