Don't let the sun go down on me
I got a chance to catch a beautiful sunset with my new camera the other day. Wanted to share with you all. The small versions here really don't do it justice. If you have time, click on them for a bit larger view.
These were taken over a very short time period. I didn't even realize how fast it got dark. I really like how the city lights show up.

I like how the satellite dish is watching with you. (or what looks like a dish anyway)
Beautiful sunset!
I'm so jealous of your new camera, but hope you post lots more pictures anyway!
Mr B, yes, it does look like it's checking out sunset, doesn't it?
Sierrabella, thanks! I'm really having fun with this thing.
Attagirl, Squirl! Don't let a perfectly good OBB go to waste. Funny how a sunset is always moving, whether viewed over cityscape, desert, beach, mountain or farmhouse. Nice photos!
I love how you caught it in the different stages--quite cool--nice silhouettes too!
Eclectic, thanks. I know, once the sun gets to a point it really moves. Being in the city isn't always my favorite but I like the way it looks in those pictures. :-)
Kitty, you have a great vantage point for your sunset shots.
Effie, thanks. I also got the shots on my Pentax 35mm. But I still haven't finished the roll. I don't have a scanner yet, blah, blah, blah. New digital makes for instant gratification!
Cool pics, Squirl!
Damn that Elton John!
Mr B, that title was for you. I wondered if anybody would catch that. It's not going through your head now is it?
If I were Bucky, I'd probably say something like, "Yeah. Don't let the sun go down on me. Anybody else, but not the sun." Alas, I'm not Bucky, so I can't say anything like that.
WOW! That is really lovely.
I caught it the first time and I fergot to mention it I was so dazzled by the satellite. But yeah, I could have other Elton tunes stuck in my head and feel better about it.
Just don't mention Circle of Life whatever you do! Please!
Eclectic, that was the other thing I was wondering if anyone would catch. Good thing you caught it cause Bucky's having power problems.
Kranki, thanks!
Mr B, I promise I won't mention Circle of Life. Circle of Life won't pass my lips. I won't even think Circle of Life. I promise!
Oops, sorry Ladybug, I almost missed your comment. Thank you!
Bravo, bravo, very nice sunset. You have some nice pictures in your fliker album already. Enjoy.
Thank you, August 95. I do love having this camera. Like I said, it's instant gratification.
Wonderful pix, squirl. I've never seen a city sunset look so lovely. Brava!
Ees so verrry verrry preety! You and Tardist both have really cool "stages" series of photos posted right now. Makes me wanna follow suit, you know, just to be a smarmy copycat little sister.
Maybe a series on the fastening of The Chaps?
(huh huh huh "go down" huh huh)
ahhhhh... how can one follow up that comment?
hmm... well, to begin with. We have a bit of a question for one of you over at Ladybug's place. It would be her post yesterday, "And me without my nipple ring." My comment, around number 14.
Not to get so sidetracked, sorry Squirl.
The sunset pictures are lovely. Just terrific colors. And the satellite dish really adds some interest to the city scape.
Thanks, Tardist!
Susie, thank you. Yes, we do get some pretty ones here sometimes. We're actually very close to the Grand River so maybe that helps.
Bucky, thanks! You should definitely do a "series" post. Now was that fastening or unfastening the chaps??? And, you didn't let me down.
Danielle, I've never had one so I don't really know the advantage. Maybe you go braless so it shows under your blouse.
Any of you ladies out there with nipple care to comment on why you get them? Danielle and I aren't sure.
And thanks about the pictures. Yes, I never noticed that dish until Mr B brought it up. I'm sure I've seen it. Just never thought about it.
Leave it to me to be checking out the dishes. hehe
Mr B, that's why we love you.
Beautiful pictures!
Ahh..
Thanks, Amber, and welcome!
