Sports = Evil says Mr Bloggerific

Well, I'm sitting here, the day after Thanksgiving, feeling properly full from yesterday's leftovers. I had finished my housework and was all primed to watch General Hospital. However, upon turning on the TV, I saw FOOTBALL! Mr Bloggerific says sports = evil. I say he couldn't be more right.

I finally saw the Harry Potter movie on Tuesday. I might go with Ichabod tonight. Probably after 10:00 which is very late for me, but maybe there won't be as many kids.

Anyway, enjoy your weekends, everyone. I'm off to Bucky's site as I have it on the best authority that she has updated her blog.

Yes. I didn't even think about football! I spent most of the day with my #2 son.

Sons are more important than football any day. Glad you got to have some time with him.

mmm...

sports on TV = a good time to read a book

;-)

So, can you tell us what you thought of the movie without giving anything away? I'm living vicariously, you know.

Danielle, let's see. I think they stayed closer to the book this time than previous movies. But there are still times I wanted to shout at the screen, "No, it didn't happen like that!"

Still, it was very good. In fact, I'm thinking about going to a late-night showing tonight. Still haven't made up my mind whether it's worth going out that late, and in the snow and all. :-)

I chuckled when watching the bathtub scene after reading Amber's take on it. And I finished re-reading the fourth book today as the stoopid football game was on.

You need to find the time to go see it. It will be worth it.

Chia, the trouser part didn't happen in the book, but was pretty dern funny. The ferret part did happen. I'm glad you got to see the movie. How many of the books have you read?

I saw HP last weekend, and loved it. I got NBS(numb bum syndrome)though. How did you enjoy the movie? I need to read the books, haven't read any yet-shame on me!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Hi Blogaholic! I really enjoyed the movie. If they'd left everything in that was in the book the movie would probably have been four or more hours long.

If you like to read at all then you'll love the HP books. I finished re-reading number four and jumped to number six last night.

Hi Squirl, I loved the movie. It's been awhile since I read the book so I missing some of the details in my brain. Like you said, if they left in all the details that didn't move the story forward... we would still be sitting there watching. Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving... sorry about the sports

Wait just a darn minute, here. My Denver Broncos WON!!! And I don't even think they've EVER played on Thanksgiving, at least not in my memory. I love football!

***lower lip quivering*** Does this mean I'm kicked outta the clubhouse?

Jif watches TV sports. I deal with it. You and Bucky remind me, I almost, ALMOST purchased a talking Golem doll today while doing some online Christmas shopping for LG at a LOTR site. It would have been so precioussss, but I deleted it at the last moment. Damn the grown-up in me!

August, I'm so glad you liked the movie. Yeah, too many story lines for a 2 1/2 hr movie. Thanks!

Eclectic, did Denver play Detroit? If they beat Detroit then Tardist won't be happy. No, you're never out fo the club. I just wanted to see General Hospital, that's all. Hope you had a great time!

Susie, my ex used to watch any sports he could. I really got burned out on them. I'm glad Ichabod doesn't care to watch them.

That Golem doll sounds like fun. Too bad you didn't get one. That would make an interessssssting blog.

Jim, so nice to see you here! I will recommend the movie, absolutely!

Jess, I am with you on both of those. Less sports, more musicals. A much better world.

Jess... You and The Count watched, watched.. MUSICALS?

This is America, dammit! Where we eat too much Turkey on Thanksgiving and watch the Lions get there asses kicked. That's why they call it Thanksgiving. We give thanks that we don't play for the LIONS!

Blogger Squirl said...

GreatWhite, I take it the Lions lost again this year. I don't begrudge the Thanksgiving day football. It's the Friday after that I should be able to watch one soap, you know? I don't get days off to watch very often and then sports rob me of my viewing pleasure. *big sigh*

omg my word verification is atepvrto

Did you know that even in Canada this was a big sports weekend? The Grey Cup finals were yesterday (the Edmonton Eskimos won, by the way)--but we don't have our TV hooked up and didn't watch it.....

The last time I watched sports on TV was, hmmm, quite some time ago. In person--different story!

Effie, so you like to go to sporting events? I have a post I have to do about our workteam going to a hockey game. That's been almost two weeks ago. I'm slacking on that one.

Squeezin' Zack, eh?

In the words of the inimitable Mr. B. Thank you for providing me with that wonderful quote!
