I've been complaining a lot about the snow lately. Usually, once it starts in Michigan it's a long, gloomy, snowy time. But, we do get some sun occasionally. I just happened to catch it before it quite got below the horizon tonight.
snow sucks, sun's nice. If you dont look at the snow topped roofs, it kinda looks like fall:) I've been missing summer since about early November. I'm ready for the summer now please.
That is one thing I noticed about Boston and MN right away, it may be cold as heck but BOY are the winters SUNNY!
I think the place with the gloomiest, grayest winters is Cleveland, hands down. bleck. I couldn't beLIEVE how much worse it was than Indiana and Chicago.
Mr B, yes I should've done a play on the song name. Oh well, the part about "it's been a long, cold, lonely winter" already applies. Even if it is still (technically) fall.
Danielle, I used to think that winter was gloomy everywhere. Then, one winter, we had some contracters at work who were helping us change our software over. They were from the Denver area. They couldn't believe how gray it was all the time. I haven't been to Cleveland in the winter. Sounds like I don't want to.
August, thanks! I always like pretty sunsets. But when it's been gloomy forever they take on a special meaning.
I always get frustrated when a sunset like that happens over the city rather than over the ocean, or over a lovely mountainscape. It's just WRONG, ya know?
Ern, this particular one is over Lake Michigan. And the ones I take from home are over the Grand River. Does that help any at all?
Kylz, yes we are. I guess we just assume that everyone knows we're sisters. I tried to bring her up right but there's just no handling some kids sometimes. :-)
My word verification is ghrig. A Grand Haven car, right?
Ladybug, I tried to answer you this afternoon but Blogger (or my internet) was being a poop.
A very Merry Christmas to you and your family, hon!
Hi, DP, our going was really slow because everyone was having trouble on the road. Later I'd heard that the day before we went they had closed the bridge. If we'd left a day earlier we wouldn't have been able to get up there anway. I'm glad you were able to make it.

Wow, about a week now.
Chia, I'm glad the pink clouds made you feel happy.
Susie, thanks. I was running late, it was freezing outside, but I had to take that picture. It was just to beautiful to miss.
Blogaholic, I'm ready for summer too.
Eclectic, thanks. Right on the ball there at number 6. LOL
Jess, please enjoy vicariously. :-)
That's my sis - unafraid to show a little pink.
What?
Wait, Bucky, I thought I was the classy sister.
So then it's "there GOES the sun." :)

Well, just don't let the sun, go down on you. (Hey, quit being naughty.)
Mr B, who's being naughty now???
Oooh, pretty pics, Squirl! I love when the clouds turn such lovely colors.
Ladybug, thanks!
Down, at the Sunset Grill.
I like that, Eclectic! Actually, my favorite breakfast spot here in town almost has that name. It's called the Sundance Grill.
Methinks, it is like a weasel.
Ella, it takes one to know one.
Beautiful!

Kylz, you got Squirl to admit she and I are related! I usually have to give her cash for that.
Ella, you should really pop by more often. You and I can discuss the corn weasels...
Pretty pretty!
Hiya Squirl--my sister added a variation to the chocolate cookies that will work with no coconut...try them and let me know!
Hugs to you--and MERRY CHRISTMAS if I don't chat with you sooner....
bhgdrhhd--huh?
Bucky, what can I say? It's the holiday season and I'm feeling kinda generous.
I'll see if I can get Ella's e-mail for you.
Effie, I'll have to get over there and check it out.
Hugs and a big ol' Merry Christmas back to you, too, hon!
WOW...HUGE sky...very cool photos!
Bucky, if we disgust the corn weasels they may all run away, vacating a vital niche in our ecosystem.
Ella - And it's all about the niche, innit? Mmmmm, weasel niche...
Thanks, Jim!
Ella and Bucky, tawk amongst yourselves.
I Love winter sunsets, they at least here tend to be pink. These are lovely.
Oh and way down on the list. ;) I can't remember the number.
Well, at least it looks warm and pink and toasty.
Nina, thanks, I like that pink, too. LOL on the number.
Kranki, they feel much warmer now that I'm inside looking at the pictures. That wind chill made if feel frigid out there.
Nice pictures....you always seem to be in the right spot at the right time....Have a Merry Christmas.....
Kylz, thanks for not blaming me. Everyone seems to be glad she turned out the way she did anyway!
Judy, thank you. You have a very Merry Christmas, too!
Merry Christmas to you and Ichabod, Squirl!
Love and hugs to you, hon.
God bless,
LadyBug
