Effie, I was thinking of you this morning when I was watching the Weather Channel. There's this giant (what I call a) Sit-n-Spin of bad weather that's west of Lake Michigan and way up into Canada, including Hamilton, of course. It looked like there was a momentary lull a few minutes ago. I was tempted to leave early and finish working from home.
Jim, yes you may. In fact, I'd send it all to you if I could. :-)
Auggie's right, rum makes it all look better. I hate spring. All that slushy, gloppy, yucky stuff! I always want to be outside and I can't because it's all slimy out.
GWB, I do love the beach. I don't get to it as much now since I live in GR. Those living right by the lakeshore do have the privilege of cooler summers and warmer winters along with that lake effect. Life is all trade-offs. :-)
Wow, Kylz, that's almost 90 degrees F. We do get that warm in the summer but it's the lowest of our highs by any means. It was 14 F here this morning. That's -10 Celsius for you. Your temp would melt all this snow in a hurry.
Ladybug, I'd be more than happy to share my snow with you. It is pretty to look at, just not to have to deal with.
Ichabod goes into work an hour later than I do. He was about a half hour late today as a semi hit a Trans Am, causing other cars to go in the ditch and backed up the highway for that long.
That ("It is pretty to look at, just not to have to deal with.") is exactly why I said it's even prettier from a few hundred miles away. I love the way it LOOKS, just not the way people DRIVE in it.
I'm so glad I stopped back by to check comments here. Of COURSE I didn't think you were slamming me...why on earth would I think that?
No, I totally understood what you were saying. Snow IS so very pretty to look at, but actually DEALING with it - the driving, the shoveling, etc. - can be a nightmare. And here in Texas we don't even get it that often! (which actually makes it worse, in a sense...folks around here don't have enough experience driving on snowy/icy roads to know how to do it. we all just freak right out!)
I didn't really think you thought I was slamming you, but I wanted to make sure. You sure know the routine, driving, shoveling, etc.
I've been driving in snow so many years that the actions are second nature. Ice is the worst, though. Absolutely NO traction. I don't know how anyone could drive well on that.
Hey, over here in west oz we are 20 odd days into summer and it's still raining and cloudy. Which sucks, coz I really wanted a tan this year. Maybe I'll come over there and get a snow tan.

Wow~ that is a lot of white stuff. Looks like you have a white Christmas.
As always beautiful photo!
Tardist, you made it in here first. All right! And I know you like snow almost as well as I do.
Nina, yeah, White Christmas, darn it. and thanks :-)
Yup--it's lookin' pretty much like that over this way too....scary stuff! And it's still coming down!
Oh that's PURDY! Can I come over and play?

Chia, really cold rain can be depressing than snow sometimes. I'm glad she enjoyed it.
I never have taken much notice of those "official" spring, summer, fall, winter dates.
It never seems to apply to the places I've lived. You must have to live somewhere else for it to make sense.
No, Danielle, I'm just stubbornly finicky that way. As in enough of the white stuff until I say go.
Bleck! Snow!
You know it, Mr B!
Oh, I miss snow! Can you send some my way?
Kat, I sure wish I could!
Don't be a hater, Squirl!
SNOW-hater, that is... **heh** ... you have already made something beautiful out of it -- the picture is lovely!
Still, I wish I could wave a wand and give you only warm, sunny days. I'd buy you a house in Pheonix, right next to Nina's if I could.
Eclectic, I would love snow if it stayed off the roads, my car, driveways, sidewalks, etc, etc.
I wouldn't mind, at least, visiting a warm place during the winter.
I have no use for the snow. I'm always offering my share to other people, and they always laugh...
Snow is great in a picture, but it sucks when it's up inside your gloves and down your boots and up your nose...well, you get the idea.
Mmmmm, Phoenix....
Bucky, you really summed it up.
My word verification is icoff.
This weather'll do that to you.
Beautiful, blue tarp on post surrounded by winter. Green euonymus on the left creates nice asymmetry.
Wonderful poetry, Ella!
Oh I just know you're happy now... NOT!
Love the picture.
Sierrabella, the only good thing about snow this year is that I can share pictures of it with everyone who does like snow. :-)
Yup, looks like here!
I like snow until February, then I want it to magically disappear(without the slop).
Cheers! *raising my lefse to you*
Wow, tshsmom, you're pretty cool about the snow thing. You can actually handle snow that long, huh?
Snow is always so nice... when you are inside with a hot rum toddy by the fire.
August, you make a good point. Of course, I want all the snow melted before i go back out again. :-)
Auggie's right, rum makes it all look better.
I hate spring. All that slushy, gloppy, yucky stuff! I always want to be outside and I can't because it's all slimy out.
tshsmom, yup rum helps. I know we had just a little of that a couple of days ago when it got to just around freezing. Nasty stuff.
I was just stopping by and thinking how much the table and chairs looks like a family of mushrooms.
Danielle, I thought the same thing. Hmmm, haven't I seen something like that somewhere before????
:-)
Kylz, you can get your fill of pictures of the white stuff around here. What's the weather like right now at your place?
Untouched snow. I need to print this out and show Hermione, she will freak.
Brrrr. Just brrrrr.
(Why does Bucky have snow up her nose? She really can't be left alone for a moment, can she?)
Jess, Hermione could have quite the feast out there. All kinds of snow to munch.
Susie, your guess about Bucky is as good as mine. And, yes, it is brrrr. Chia yelled at me to close the door because it was too cold.
Squirl, we share a mutual joy (?), lake effect snow. But it is a small price to pay for living so close to those fabulous beaches!
GWB, I do love the beach. I don't get to it as much now since I live in GR. Those living right by the lakeshore do have the privilege of cooler summers and warmer winters along with that lake effect. Life is all trade-offs. :-)
In case anyone's interested, I have snow down my pants, too.
Snow down your pants, Bucky? One of my father’s more colorful phrases was “It’s colder than an Eskimo’s tit.” So where do YOU feel the cold?
Squirl, now you have me dreaming of a white Christmas! That’s OK, as long as it remains a dream and doesn’t become a nightmare.
Bucky, down your pants? What'm I gonna do with you?
Nick, we've had more than enough for a White Christmas around here this year. I hope you guys don't get it, too.
The title of this post sounds like a quote from Bucky, waking up after a long night of drinking with the Detroit Tigers.
Oh, please. SHE left it alone. SOMEBODY had to pick up the slack.
Nilbo, what would we do if you weren't here to pick up the slack?
Now I have to make sure Bucky sees that one. :-)
I'd really appreciate it if you'd stop talkin' about my slack here.
Bucky, you know Nilbo likes your slack.

OOOOOOOH, PRETTY!
(It's especially pretty from hundreds of miles away!)
Ladybug, I'd be more than happy to share my snow with you. It is pretty to look at, just not to have to deal with.

Sheesh. White Christmas? Well, whatever. :-)

Ladybug, I hope you didn't think I was slamming you. I think snow is pretty to look at, too.

HUGS to you, Squirl.

So many, many hugs back atcha hon!

Hi, Song, it was actually raining here today. We still have plenty of snow, though. You'll get your tan, it can't rain forever. :-)
