Happy first day of SUMMER!
Today is officially the first day of summer. It begins at 8:26 am EDT this morning.
I'm taking today off from work because I feel the Summer Solstice is as good a reason as any. Anybody else out there have any solstice plans?

Will there be pics of people drumming the summer in? I watched a group of people do that on the first day of summer last year--out on the Port Dalhousie pier...beautiful scene--sunset over Lake Ontario...
Usually we celebrate the solstice with a barbecue party, but tonight our son has baseball practice and I've got a ladies' bike ride to lead, so it will have to wait. Happy Solstice Day, though!!

Isn't it wonderful that summer is only just beginning? With as hot as it has been, it feels like we've already been in the midst of summer. Which makes it all the more of a treat that this is the beginning. :-)
No plans on my end. But I did eat some watermelon - that traditional summertime fruit.
