Camping out night for the boys
On Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend we had the nephews overnight. They are now 6 and 5 years old. The 5 year old got a new tent for his birthday, so the overnight camp was planned and Ichabod brought his tent also.
We picked them up on Saturday evening and they set up the tents while it was still light out.
As you can see, Annie supervised the whole thing.
Then there was the fire over which they roasted marshmallows. Couldn't fool them into eating soy dogs.
And, how could you get by without the gratuitous Annie shots?
Chewing on her favorite toy, a stick.
Trying to retrieve a stick that's larger than she is. :)

I love your yard! Its so big, spacious, green, green grass. Very nice.
The boys look like they are having a blast. Its fun to camp out, even if its in your own yard.
Annie is getting so big! What a big love she is.
Thanks, Lawbrat. Actually, I wish it were my yard. It belongs to Ichabod's folks, as does Annie. But we get to visit sometimes. :)
Looks like you had a wonderful time. :o)
You tried to fool them with Faux Dogs on a holiday?! BAD.
Your blog looks great! And I can't believe how much Annie has grown :0
Hee! Gratuitous Annie!!!! Looks like a fun weekend/overnight for everyone! LOVE the new masthead, Squirly!!
MD, we absolutely did. And I rubbed Annie's ears for you. :)
Mr B, actually, they only wanted marshmallows anyway, so no loss for anyone. Don't want to make a faux pas with a faux dog.
Thanks, Sun!
Susie, didn't Bucky do a wonderful job?! And Annie is getting so big. But, believe me, she still has the energy of a puppy.
Eclectic, would you have forgiven me if I'd left out the gratuitous Annie shots? Would Brizzy?
Thanks, I love my new look. And I love that I can now post a larger size picture.
Yay pictures!
Looks like a good time was had by all. thanks for letting us share in the joy.
but no takers on the soy dogs, eh?
not even Annie? ;-)
What a fun time . . . I bet they had a blast. I have to admit that I have never had a soy dog.
But Annie is just beautiful, Mateo would so love to play with her.
Danielle, I should've taken more pictures, but sometimes you get taken up in the action and forget. That's funny what you said about the soy dogs as Annie was given a piece of one. She sniffed and looked at it like she wasn't sure what to do with it. It couldn't be food, she was sure. :)
Bone, nope, no altercations. The stick never got Annnie, it just lay there. :)
Nina, it was fun, and the boys had a great time. Annie would like Mateo, too. He might even wear her out.
Love the pictures, and love the new look!
What a perfect yard to camp out in.
look at that tent--so cute! And roasted marshmallows--there's nothing better!
Did they manage to sleep the whole night outside?
Oh yeah--I didn't even MENTION your new blog look--it is FAB-u-lous! Very nice!
Sierrabella, thanks. It is a great yard. It's perfect for playing with dogs and kids.
Effie, yes, the kids stayed out there all night. Ichabod, didn't sleep much, though, as people two houses down were playing loud music until around 5 am. Thanks! And I like your new profile pic!
Nice photos! Love the new blog look and I think I'm in love with Annie (but not in an icky, weird-guy way).
Huh huh huh...Ichabod pitched a tent.
What? Did you think I'd come over here and be nice?
Looks like a lot of fun! Camping in the back yard is nice in that it's unlikely you will be awoken by bears making off with your cooler full of food. But I wouldn't trust that Annie...she looks like when she gets done with the stick, she's totally gonna steal some soy dawgs.
Kittn, so I have a wooden halo? That's interesting. :)
Soy dogs must be an acquired taste. I did cook them over the fire before wrapping the biscuit around them. Still nasty.
BBQ at your place sounds like fun!
Jim, you should love Annie. Everybody loves Annie, but not in a weird-guy kinda way. :) Thanks!
Bucky, Bucky, Bucky, I should've figured you'd make that joke.
But Annie wouldn't even touch the soy dogs. She give one a sniff and a lick and went back to eating sticks. Hard life for a dog.
But, you're right, no bears. :)
We had to remove our fire ring yesterday, to make room for our garage. I miss it already!
We'll relocate it later this summer.
I hadn't noticed it until Hola Gatito mentioned it, but you DO look rather like a Greek Orthodox saint in that picture.
Saint Squirly of the Soy Dogs.
tshsmom, not only is having a fire in the backyard fun, when you have property with trees and brush it really comes in handy. They never have to buy wood for the fire. I'm sure you don't either.
Bucky, St Squirly of the Soy Dogs???? There's just something really weird about that.
