A nice night walk

We've been having some pretty decent weather for early fall, here in Michigan. So last week Ichabod asked me if I wanted to go for a stroll on the boardwalk. It was really nice walk and I was really having fun with the camera.

Here's some Grand Rapids in the evening. Again, these look better if you click on them and look at them in the large size.

NIght Walk1

This is Ichabod almost falling in the river.

Night Walk2

Starting to get dark.

Night Walk3

Getting darker.

Night Walk4

Then, suddenly, a wind came up and Ichabod had to hang on for dear life.

Night Walk5

Then, finally

Night Walk6

You always get the best sunrise/sunset shots (not the Fiddler on the Roof version)

Is the porn version of that Diddler on the Roof?

LOVE the Ichabod in the wind. So much more fun than a fuckin' mime.

Mr B, like booger. Is that a Bob Seger song?

Bucky, Diddler, yes. And thank you.

He is more fun than a mime.

Susie, yes, he is. He is very entertaining.

Kranki, I accidentally blurred the shot, but he was windmilling, pretending he was going to fall. He asked me if I was scared. I told him, no, he knows how to swim and if he wants to fall into a dirty river that's his business. :-)

Kitty,, thanks!

HA! Fun series!

And they do look really nice full size in Flickr.

Ichabod's a hoot!

"Give a hoot! Don't pollute!"

(sorry, my brain just works that way, and for some reason, I always share)

Anyway, Ichabod's hanging onto the tree reminds me of so many of my tornado dreams when I was a kid. It seemed that in all my dreams/nightmares I was always having me feet fly out from under me while hanging onto something. I guess it was more glamorous than cowering in a ditch, like you are supposed to do. Because you know, The Wizard of Oz was all about the glam.

Love it! Your progressive evening pics have me wanting to take a pic of the progressive sunrise on my way in to work--it was lovely yesterday with the fog (er, I mean smog) all around...

Pretty impressive Ichabod--you could make a hurricane video--you know, like those reporters who stand in the midst--trying in vain to avoid flying debris....

I am apparently the prescription for sexy!! My word verification is:

Bob Seger and the Silver Booger Band? Hmmm, that may take some research.

Danielle, thanks! Sounds like some wild childhood dreams. Give a hoot!

Effie, thanks! You should take the pictures. I always find sunrises and sunsets fascinating. I'd love to see your sunrises. Sexy meds, huh?

Mr B, I think it would definitely be a hit with the younger crowd.

Don't you be treadin' on the Bob Seger, now, not while "Live Bullet" is still the best concert album EVER.

Whoa, whoa, Susie, Bucky, I did not mean to bunch the undies of any Bob Seger fans. I was doing one of those things like Danielle, you now, follow the bizarre brain trail?

I was actually thinking Like a Rock, Like a Booger, well, um. Then Mr B came in with the Silver Booger Band and it just seemed to follow.

How many mea culpas do I owe for this one???

Susie, did you really get nitmvs for a Bob Seger comment? And Bucky, I'm not saying Live Booger.

I LOVE the reflections in still water!
BTW, nobody mentioned how STRONG you are. When that wind swept Ichabod away, you still managed to take a clear, unshaky picture. What a woman!!

Thank you, tshsmom, yes I fought a mighty wind to get that picture. That wasn't my own wind was it?

I love the reflection on the water, too. It's nice living on the west side of a body of water. Lots of good photo ops.

AHhh Bucky said Mime. Those silent motherfuckers.

I dont see any drunk clowns trying to accost poor Ichabod though so I bet he is non mime affiliated.

Or they would of got him by now.

I didnt know those MI winds got so fierce, remind me not to ever wear a loose skirt if I head up that way mmmmkay?

Susie, that was pretty clever. And, for the record, I never had anything against Bob Seger. Never needed to own any of his stuff. Bucky had it.

Blogaholic, thanks! Here's a link to Bob Seger's Greatest Hits. You can listen to clips there. http://tinyurl.com/e3g94

Jess, you're right. He is non-mime-affiliated. He has resisted joining their union.

Yep, better watch those prevailing MI winds.

Bucky, I'm not so sure that mine is better oxpki

Wow, you always get great landscape shots. I wish you didn't have to drive for like an hour or so from where I live before you get to anywhere pretty.
