Arrrrr, Mateys

I just wanted to make sure that everyone had time to prepare for September 19th which happens to be national Talk Like a Pirate day. This is something that I know is very near and dear to all of us.

Please make sure you visit the site so you know what to do next Monday. This is your public service announcement for the day.

Arrrrr!

Oh! Oh!

I was wondering when it was coming up!

Terrific.

There is this radio ad out right now, that I think I heard 10 times one Saturday where a pirate sits down in an airplane next to a woman who is "just trying to do some reading for work, please."

I lurve that ad.

I wish I could figure out how to post sound clips on a post by then, and I could do my interpretation of the ad (both people).

Doubt that it will happen though.

Here's one of my favorite parts:
"Arrrrrrrrrr, would you open my peanuts for me? They made me check me hook at the gate."

Lol, Danielle. I thought I'd remembered hearing about this before. So when I ran across it I thought it was my public duty to announce to my blog-friends.

Finally, a day for people like me!
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Arrrr, the parrot just crapped on me shoulder, and the cabin boy is face down on the poop deck, it's a good day to be a pirate. Arrrrrrr!

Arrr, my verification word is ititl

It's got "tit" in it!

Why does bucky get words with tit in it, and I get words with THREE, count them THREE q's?

Talk like a pirate day, eh? Can we dress like them too? That would be a sight let me tell you--kerchiefs and striped shirts with a patch on one eye and big gold hoop earrings...interesting...

"Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum..."
Maybe we could all watch that movie with Johnny Depp as a pirate..what was the name of that movie again?

Greeaaatttt.. that's the day I go to the cardiologist. I'm just sure he's going to look at me like I've gone bananas.

But I can have some fun with him, can't I?

Arrrgh! I remember that one pirate joke...

Pirate walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Ya got a wheel stuck in your crotch." The Pirate says, "Arrr! It's driving me nuts!"

Uhh, yeah.

Arrrr!

Well, the Poopdeck, and great pirate booty, caught my interest. I have the parrot already . . . but now I have a week to practice.
Thanks for the leg up . . . the wooden leg that is.

Heh! So on the 19th do we have a rule that no comments shall be in any language other than pirate-speak?

If you include Canada, we could make it international pirate day. I would totally do it lol.

My code word is bukbcj. First it made me think of Bucky then it made me think Harry Potter.

Bucky, you always get lucky with the word verification. Or is it that you always get lucky with the cabin boy? I get confused easily,

My word verification is bhead. I don't know if pirates were into beheading or not, but it's still funny.

Danielle, some people just get all the luck.

Effie, I don't see why not. I bet you'd look really cute in a pirate costume. And I see that Danielle answered your Pirates of the Carribean question.

Amber, so nice to see you over here. I think you should definitely talk piratese to your doctor. And that joke was great. Tee-hee

Mr B, even a pirate has to love brownies. They like rum and I make rum cake. I wonder if you can make rum brownies.

Hi, Kranki, arrrrr!

Effie, I will definitely be remembering that one.

Sierrabella, now we're making Chips Ahoy with rum?

Danielle, I did like that movie.

tshsmom, I guess they all didn't say arrrrr. After a hard day remodeling your house you should definitely indulge in a little raping and pillaging.

Nanina, you are soooo welcome.

Eclectic, oops, didn't mean to miss you and August. I was busy most of the day and am frantically trying to catch up.

We can try to do pirate talk next Monday. If I can't quite get it entirely then I'll at least throw in a few arrrrrs.

August, my Canadian blogging buddies. I think we need to make it international Pirate day. I think Canadians should be included on any national day that we have that they like. Canadians are NOT, however, responsible for our political policies! Arrrrr!

Pirates may not have been into beheading, but you can bet your booty they were into head. Maybe bhead refers to the cabin boy?

And I go another kinda word:

As a Canadian, I would like to accept your offer of making National Pirate Day into International Pirate Speak Day....after all, pirates say "eh" a lot as it is--and so do Canadians--does that mean all Canadians are part pirate already? I don't have a peg leg, but I have screws in my ankle--does that count?

I loved "Pirates of the Carribbean" and plan on getting that for my movie collection....once things are unpacked....

Bucky, you just might be on to something.

MD, it never hurts to practice, or eat brownies. :-)

Effie, I think that screws in your ankle is on par with the wooden leg. Back in those days they might have gotten away with just that but the doctors were lousy, eh?

Is it like a Mofo? But with caviar?

And then I realized I was commenting on the wrong post.
