Blue skies, nothin' but blue skies

First, I want to thank every one of you for your kind words of support in my hour of car shooting. I should have it back on Friday and never will park in that particular spot again.

I felt it was time for something lighter. A lot lighter, in fact. We actually had a sunny day all day here in Michigan in January. I felt the need to document this fact throughout the day.

This was shortly after sunrise.

I am not posting every picture I took. If you'd like to see the other four that won't be posted just click on one and go through them on Flickr. Of course, I like to check out the Large version in All Sizes.

This is what midday looked like.

DSCN1113

I was hoping we'd get a nice sunset. There really weren't enough clouds to make a spectacular showing, but it's better than we've had in a while.

And it stayed clear after dark, and the moon is almost full. So, of course, I had to take this shot.

Well, here am being a little ray of sunshine. Hope everyone enjoyed at least half as much as I did. :-)

Those have got to be the most beautiful pictures of Michigan in January.
I just love Grand Rapids. I lived there for quite awhile, but moved back to Lansing in '03.
Thank you for thinking of me!

Thank you Lawbrat. Sun in January is rare around these here parts. Grand Rapids is a nice town. But, you needed to move for school.

You're welcome and I hope you got the chance to take your boys out in the sunshine today. :-)

Pretty! I so want to visit Michigan. I spent the first six years of my life there and remember absolutely nothing about it.

I like that series. It was soooo nice to have sun all day, and the moon came out early and gorgeous.

Jim, where in Michigan?

Jim, thanks! I'm with Bucky, I'd like to know where in MI. Summers here are nice, as is the end of spring and beginning of fall. Otherwise, it's cold and gloomy.

Bucky, thanks, yeah, wasn't it a gorgeous day? After I got the morning pics I decided it needed to be a series. When I saw the moon tonight, that was the topper.

A little ray of sunshine, yes. But you mooned us in the last pic!

Hee.

Beautiful photos, as usual, Squirl. Thanks for sharing them with us. I hope you and Ichabod have a wonderful weekend.

Jess, you mean I shouldn't show up at your doorstep because Hermione will chase me? Should I be skirred?

Sun, I'll have to check that out. I should check out the Flickr group, too. Thanks!

Chia, your temp sounds wonderful. I hope it doesn't rain on you the whole time you're away for the weekend. Talk to you again soon.
Kranki, I'm keeping these pictures as a reminder that it might, just might be sunny in MI in the winter. Sorry about all your rain. That can really be a drag after all those days.

Kylz, it is fun. I have trouble making them look really cool. Jess R had one last fall that was just gorgeous. It was taken through a leafless tree and with a few wispy clouds.

Mr B, it looks like dating twins brings nothing but trouble. Sometimes trouble is fun.

Susie, I'll bet even a little ray of moonshine is enough to get you drunk. Come on, we're both Southern Girls, we should know, right?

Jim, Bucky might know Stockbridge, I'm not as familiar with that side of the state. It's always cracked me up that there's a Hell, MI. When people say there's a snowball's chance in hell of something happening, I figure in winter that's pretty likely. :-)

Ladybug, and it's not the first time I've mooned you all. tee hee
Thanks, I hope you, DD and all the little bugs have a great weekend, too.

You wouldn't believe the kind of day that i'm having today and when I clicked to your site and I saw such pretty sunny happy pictures, I was so much happier, right away! It's so nice to have blog friends like you! (the sun isn't shining up here right now, but it is alarmingly warm for January)

Hugs,
Effie

Mr B, ahem!

Effie, so glad I could brighten your day for a minute. Yeah, it's raining cats and dogs here today, but I can bask in yesterday for about the next month. Then I might need to see the sun for real again. :-)

wuz jus' what we expected I like that.

Mind you, I have that song stuck in my head now.

Ah, Squirl, sunshine! I love the sun! Glad you have it, ‘cause we in Louisville are in the midst of “a strong storm system crossing the Ohio Valley today and tonight.” That includes the rain that’s falling now turning into snow tonight.

I’m happy to hear your car in coming back; you did have it armor plated, didn’t you?

I just stopped by again to enjoy the sun. Of course, today its raining and very gloomy. I'll take rain over snow any day.

Danielle, sun in winter is good. So is that song. ;-)

SS Nick, that sun was beautiful. We're getting loads of rain today, but that weather yesterday was sooo gorgeous. And my car won't be ready until next week now. They're not even armor plating it. :-(

Lawbrat, come on back any time you need to see the sun. And I'll take rain over snow any day too.

I'm glad someone caught this gorgeous sunny winter on camera -- we've had the sun, I just haven't had the energy to photograph it. And now, thanks to you, I don't have to!!! Beautiful shots, Squirly. Glad for you to get some sun -- you've been needing it!

Hi, Eclectic, I would've been pissed had I not had my camera yesterday. I am glad I caught it, too. I will be looking back on these for a while. It's going to have to help me keep my spirits up. They didn't have my car done today, darn it.

Thanks!

Chia, I've already been admiring those pictures on your Flickr account.

I could have my car on Monday but I won't get to GR until after the shop is closed. It'll have to be Tuesday.

Thanks!
