Showdown at the GR Corral

I was coming home from visiting my mother tonight, about 7:45, when my cell phone rang. It was Ichabod. He asked me how far I was away from home. I told him I was just a few miles away. He told me to tell him when I got closer as the pellet gun sniper was at it again. The police had been called but they weren't there yet.

This time the guy had shot up the landlord's Jeep. Ichabod had felt some whizzing past him as he was standing on the deck. He ducked, very quickly, back into the apartment. Thank goodness he didn't get hurt.

The police took it seriously this time. Ichabod had told me not to park in the lot so I parked about a half block away on the street. The landlord came over to walk me to the apartment because the police were talking to Ich as he had an idea where the shots might've come from.

After a while we could see a flashlight, police-type, shining out of one of the apartments. We can't see the front of that building from our apartment, but a couple of the landlord's friends came by and they said there were cop cars and fire trucks out in front.

We waited for about an hour and I wanted to know what was up. I finally called the police department and she said that a man had been put in jail. Yay!!! I can park safely in my own parking lot again!

Ichabod says, "Pardner, there ain't enough room in this here parking lot for both of us. I want you out of here by sundown."

Thank God that is over! What type of person does this stuff? I'm glad you're both safe and can be at home without fear of getting hurt or your cars shot up more. Geesh!

Hi, Lawbrat! Thanks, I feel much better now. We wonder if he was drinking or doing drugs, too. They might be able to put him away for longer if they found contraband in his apartment.

Oh, thank goodness. Hope they keep the mofo in jail. The cars were bad enough, but he could really have injured someone.

Susie, I am with you all the way on this one. I know it's wrong to wish bad things on people, but this dude was messing with people tonight. Maybe he has drugs or is in violation of parole or something, anything, to put him away for a long time.
I get my car back tomorrow and I don't want it shot up again!
Thanks!

Chia, you posted the same time I did. :-)

I told Ich that you tipped your hat to him. Yes, I am going to sleep better tonight. Of course, we don't how long they'll hold him either. We are going to move. Already checking into houses in GH. Thanks!

Chia, you did it again. I like the Matrix reference, that's good. Lookin' forward to having you back home again.

Hooray! That was completely asinine - I hope you can get him for destruction of property.

And then rip off his 'nads.

Finally. Glad that's over.

So...any ideas where he bought his little toy?

JUST kidding. Sheesh!

Jim, I wish I could get the money back from him for my repairs, but my guess is that he doesn't have any. I just hope they can keep him locked up until after I move. Then they can rip off his 'nads. :-)

Mr B, thanks. And he probably stole it. ;-)

the funny thing about this is, being from Michigan, it just didn't faze me. That behavior is SO common around here.
morons. sorry you had to go through that. blech.

Three cheers! I'm so glad they figured out who it was and got him this time.

And how exciting that you are looking into buying a house!

yay!

Thank God they caught him. That was just to scary. Hope they keep him in for awhile. At least you know he will be evicted and won't be living across the street.

OperaGal, I think of this kind of thing happening farther south on the street where I live. Of course, there it's probably real bullets. Thanks

Kylz, I hope they can hold him. I sure he's really, really poor and probably nuts so maybe no one would bail him out.

Danielle, thanks! Yeah, I will be glad to be out of where I am now. It's really a nice little apartment. But it is really small and the neighborhood, obviously, isn't the best. Even if people aren't shooting we have the loudmouths at bar-closing time to contend with. Looking forward to a whole house and garage!

August, thanks! But I think that building next door is for people like that who can't find homes anywhere else. But they want yuppie-types to move downtown with the missions and places like that right there. If I choose to go help serve meals that's my prerogative. But living next to them isn't always fun.

Chia, when I was your age it would have been plenty of room. We just have had many more years to accumulate stuff.

I saw your comment on Eclectic's post and had to come over here immediately.
So glad the freak has been arrested and that Ich did not get hurt.
I'm very glad to see that you are checking into houses!
Very good idea.
Anyway, glad to know you are safe. :o) *sigh of relief*

MD, I'm glad you dropped by. I wanted everyone who was so supportive when that crap went down to know that your prayers were answered and the jerk's behind bars. A house will be nice. The neighborhoods where we're looking are not known as shooting ranges. :-)

I hope he isn't out on bail tonight! :(
I hear ya on accumulating stuff over the years. After shifting stuff out of our living room and bedroom during home repairs, I decided I don't want to EVER move!

tshsmom, man I hope he doesn't get out until we're out of town.

It sure is easy to accumulate stuff over the years. All of Ichabod's power tools are at his sister's right now. My gardening things are there, too. Moving can be a drag, but if you do it often enough you tend to throw out things you never thought you would.

"Ichabod had felt some whizzing past him"

Oh, come on, that phrase didn't jump out at anybody else?

Glad they caught the mutant shooter. I hope he's already settled in as somebody's bitch.

Awww yeah. Pellet gun boy is now somebody's butt bitch. Cause really, what kind of street cred is that?

Yeah I got busted with a glock and a key of coke, Oh yeah? Well I got busted for shooting a cop.

What are you here for?

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAA

I could say so much. And it'd show a not-so-softer side of me.

But to be nice:

I am glad the guy was caught and that Ichabod didn't get hurt.

I would been very..umm..rageful if I felt any buzz past my ear.

And glad you are looking for a new house. :)

Hey--I posted a comment here yesterday and it didn't show up!!

I'm just glad that you can enter your house with a slight sense of security now--and not worry about bullets whizzing past your head!

Hugs to you!

OMG -- I'm so relieved!!! Thanks for sharing the news! Have you heard any more on whether they'll be able to detain him longer? Ckee-rist on a cracker!! What a nut job!

Leave it to Bucky to pick up on the whizzing. :-) And I hope he's somebody's bitch.

Kranki, I'm thinking that shooting out the window is a violation of his lease or something. We're feeling that he probably won't be around again. At least not until we can get moved.

Jess, your comment absolutely made my day. And it's been a really crappy one, so thanks!

Amber, I know, it's hard not to want to hate someone for doing that kind of thing. Thank goodness nobody was hurt and he's put away now. And we're moving, yay.

Effie, sometimes Blogger is so stupid. Yes, I do feel better about going through the parking lot now. Thanks!

Nina, thanks. From what I hear he should be in there for some time. At least until we're gone.

Eclectic, nut job is right. I think we're probably safe from him for a while. Maybe he was off his meds or something, who knows. The kind of rap music he listened to (if that was from his apartment) sounded really full of hate. Not a good combination there. Thank you.
