The Wonder Twins
You've seen current pictures of Bucky and me. You can tell we're related but we definitely don't look exactly alike. But, there was a time when we must have more closely resembled each other.
Bucky's always been tall and my height is average. I also had a tendency to look a bit young for my age. So we'd go out together and people would ask if we were twins. We'd laugh at them and say no. Then we'd ask which one of us they thought was older. Since Bucky was taller they'd guess her. Well, being a teenager, she thought that was pretty cool.
Since it's asking a lot to have you just believe me, here's the photographic evidence of that era. This is with our older brother JD. You can see Timmy's senior picture to the right. The only way Tardist is represented is a painting of his on the wall to the left.

Where did you get that freak on the left?
I think the stork brought her.
I'm glad I looked at the photo and then read the post. I said, "FINALLY! A picture of Sqrrrl looking mischievous!" I knew it!
Awww! Nice photo! :o)
I like it.
LOL!
It seems that everyone in the family isn't "four-eyed." What happened?
Heh!!! Couldn't you just shoot whoever designed the late 70s?? That's a pricelss photo!!!! LOVE IT!
That's priceless! How cute you both were (and are). You look like the cat that ate the canary and Bucky looks smug about something - probably Play-Doh porn.
You totally look like you. :)
Wow, flashback time! I dont think i've seen a picture of you, but i'll take Chia's word for it- that you havent changed a bit.
Heh heh, I haven't thought about my Beethoven t-shirt in years, or my Mostly Mozart t-shirt, for that matter. Opera gal would be so proud!
I shake my head and laugh at how you just looks joyfully innocent, Squirl, while Bucky looks like she is proud of herself for getting you to crack up for the photo.
Too cute. You two did look similar then.
And boy did JD have perfect hair for the era. You couldn't have asked for more perfect Bee Gees hair.
Mr B, I can be mischievous. :-)
MD, thanks!
Kristine, hi! Glad I could give you a chuckle.
SSNick, he was the first in the family and he sucked up all the good eye genes. The rest of us ended up with glasses.
Eclectic, perhaps it's my age, but it's the 80s that make me shudder when I look at hair, makeup and huge shoulder pads. Thanks!
Chia, you are way too sweet. Thanks!
Jim, I've seen more than one picture of us with me cracking up and Bucky standing there looking like Ms. Cool. Thanks!
August, thanks!
JDR, well I look little since Bucky was probably close to 6' and my brother was a least 6'3". Or do you mean I look younger. Because I was DEFINITELY that.
Lawbrat, I'll have to post a more recent picture. Bucky's posted some in the past. I still have the same sense of humor and smile, though.
Bucky, we all had those until, um, somebody appropriated them for her use. :-)
And yes, she would be proud.
Danielle, you see our personalities in that picture. Bucky has always been the cool one. I've always been the dork.
And didn't JD have the coolest hair? Remember he was a musician at the time and had to look the part. I think his hair was like that when he had a bit part in the movie Ford Fairlane. You could see him playing drums in a club, but from a distance. I seem to remember a lot of hair flying.
"Oh, yes, I'm the cool one," I said as I surrounded myself with Homies and Babylon 5 action figures.
For a generation that thought we were so original, we sure all dressed alike. I had a scoop-necked shirt just like the turtleneck you wore. How much of that material did they make?
I love it, you do look alike in that picture. I can so relate I didn't get the tall genes either. :)
tshsmom, that material was really popular. What's REALLY weird, though, is that this turtle neck originally belonged to my grandmother. Of course, she didn't have much of a rack. :-)
Nina, I'm sure the big glasses helped the effect. Actually, at 5'6", I'm not short. I just come from a tall family and ended up being the shortest in the group. :-)
Oh totally 70s!
This reminds me of pictures of my mom when she was a teen. She looked very much like that.
So cool to see some pictures of the past. Don't ya just love the beige color pictures used to be?
LOVE the picture! Ya'll look so sweet together.
LOVE it! You two do look like twins in that pic! very cool that it's a family portrait without being a family portrait!
Awwww! Great photo.
Bucky, oops, I missed you. You're just too cool, even with the Homies and Babylon 5. They're part of your mystique.
Amber, yeah, this is a scanned picture, but they did take on a bit of a sepia tone. Your mom's age, huh???
Ladybug, thanks! I love that picture, too.
Effie, I like that, a family portrait without being a family portrait. Thanks!
Sierrabella, thanks!
OK, you need to post something new, pretty please, because if I have to look at myself in the big plastic-framed glasses one more time, I will be poking my own eyes out with bamboo skewers.
Soon, Bucky, soon.
*POKE*
There goes the left one.
Just call me Bucky Three-Eyes.
Hahaha, just have to comment again because my verification word is josuf.
Does he have an amazing technicolor dream coat?
Ah, you two were SO cute! Still are, of course!
GWB, thanks! :-)
