Some flowers I've visited lately
These aren't from my yard. I will be posting those one of these days. But I just felt like putting these up.
These are mostly sunflowers, but they were either so pretty or different, I just couldn't help myself.
This one was a touch blurry, but I really liked these flowers. Even though these were all taken on a cloudy day, this one's a bit darker because I was trying sharpen up the blur.
You can't really tell from this picture, but this one was quite large and very tall.
I particularly like this one as it looks like the bottom flower is being tickled by the bee.
And for a nice, subtle finish.

*wonders what the first one looked like before it exploded*
Hee hee, Mr B. I kinda thought this one looked like a sunflower got it on with a marigold.
:-)
Those are gorgeous. I've always loved sunflowers!
Call it "tickling" all you want...the bee is humping the flower!
The sunflower got it on with the marigold?! That would shock even Georgia O'keefe!
Laurie, thanks! I love them, too. And I also like your profile pic.
Bucky, I know. I just posted the Nice Matters badge, you know? Tryin' to keep a G rating there.
;-)
Mr B, yeah, I think I lost my G rating there.
Those are all beautiful! I especially like the first one. It looks huge. Was it huge? I'm picturing dinner plate size.
Erin, you're right, that one was huge, like the other orange one. Thanks!
Magnificent, as usual, Ms. Squirl! Thank you.
I notice several folks are posting photos of flowers today. Perhaps, if my leg is better tomorrow, I will be able to walk the neighborhood with my camera, visit some flowers, and post some blossoming photos myself.
I have to say I dont think I have ever seen sun flowers that big. They are gorgeous.
Nick, thank you so much! Whether you get flower pictures or not, I sure hope your leg's feeling a lot better.
Tweety, it's amazing how many varieties of sunflowers there are. Thanks!
Your welcome. May I ask where these were?
The first one kind of reminds me of a Jim Henson puppet. I don't suppose you know what variety it is? I could seriously grow those.
I was thinking the marigold crossed with a sunflower, too!! That dirty bee... pollinating with more than one species at a time.
so pretty. I have some of those huge ones in my yard as well -- Burpee calls them Teddy Bear Sunflowers. Don't you just want to take one to bed with you?
Tweety, they were in the yard of a friend. Her place is where I get some of my best flower shots.
Courtney, I'm not sure what variety they are, but I'm sure you could find them listed in a seed catalog. I like the Jim Henson idea. :-)
Eclectic, bees are just whores. :-)
Lissa, Burpee, that's the catalog I was thinking of. Thanks for stopping by. Thanks!
These are beautiful. I especially like the first one. My husband and I will be taking the kids to a botanical garden next month. I will be sure to take pictures and come over here and invite you to come see. There is a walk-in exotic butterfly cage there, so I hope to get some really nice pictures.
What a nice breath of sunshine on a somewhat dreary day.
The Teddy bear sunflower is so unusual. It doesn't really look like a sunflower at all.
And I really like the star (petunia?) at the end. And the white ruffly flowers (the semi-blurred ones) in the middle.
Really lovely.
:-)
So pretty and what wonderful textures. And I loved the imagery of the bee tickling the flower. I could almost hear the giggling.
Lynn, hi! Please let me know when you post your pictures. Thanks!
Danielle, I'm glad you enjoyed the flowers. I know that first one is really great. The last one is actually a morning glory.
Kranki, I'm glad you liked the bee tickling the flower, too.
:-)
Lovely, as always! ;)
Thanks, tshsmom!
