My Garden

I just realized I hadn't taken any pictures of my yard since early June when the peonies where blooming. Since the gardens have definitely changed since that time I figured I'd better get out there with my camera.

Here's a slideshow of the entire shoot.

As always, if you want to see better detail just click on the picture and choose All Sizes.

This is a long shot of the backyard.

And some shots going around the backyard, starting with the fence garden.

And here are the front gardens.

There's still some more planting to do. And some of the flowers, especially the fuschia and the impatiens will do more filling out. But I feel better now that I've documented the gardens to this point.

Your neighbors must love you. (Or hate you; I guess that could go either way!)
Your place looks very inviting.

Hi, Susie! For good or bad, the backyard is pretty closed in and it can't be easily seen. The front is, of course, open. Last year, my first summer, one of the long-time residents of the neighbor stopped to tell me that he appreciates when neighbors take that kind of care of the yard. Thanks!!!

I can't believe neither of us thought to take a walk in your yard last night. Must've been too focused on the hummus, beer, and John Cusack.

That is sort of what we want to do with our backyard as soon as we get a fence up too. All those flowers. We have to have two tree's for sure taken out. Then fence in the back yard.

Kranki, thanks, I wish you could. The cooler temps, along with more rain than last year, has helped to keep the grass green.

E, I told you that you guys need to come this way on vacation. You know your kids HAVE to see the world's largest musical fountain.

Courtney, Ichabod keeps trying to talk me into moving back to an apartment. I really love having a house and a yard. I would miss the yard and the plants sooooo much.

Tweety, well, just work at it a bit at a time. Most of the hostas and lilies were already there. You might want to plant perennials so you don't have to put as much money in every year. Good luck with your yard.

Your yard looks like such a peaceful haven! By the end of next summer, I'm hoping that our back yard will be more of a haven too.

I really love your backyard fence garden. I'm really fond of raised beds that are bordered by stone of some sort.

Just lovely!

Danielle, thanks! The people who lived here before us had that started and I like it too.

Nina, so nice to see you here, busy lady. Thanks!

Bone, it's kinda like bugs. We have 'em, too, but they grow bigger in the south. :-)

No Squirl, it's much to neat....you need to leave a few weeds in amongst the flowers.... just kiddin, that must have taken a lot of time to weed all that.... that is how my garden looked 13 years ago when hubby was alive... we also had a manicured yard.... and your garden is beautiful...I don't know if your hubby works in the yard with you or not, but it sure was alot more fun having someone to weed with.... have a good evening....judy

Hi, Judy, Ichabod will mow the grass, but the weeding and flower planting are all up to me. I hope garden pictures bring back good memories for you. Thanks!
