Sunday Night

Well, here it is. It's Sunday night with another work week ahead of me. I like to treat myself on Sundays nights to a nice leisurely soak in the tub. I put some bath salts in, maybe light some candles and grab whatever book I happen to be reading at the time.

Right now I'm sitting here in my robe all relaxed from my soak, still reading my book until I came back to blogland. Feeling pretty good right now. I'd like to hear from you folks how you kick back and relax.

I would imagine that you know from my masthead/blog that tea and chocolate play a big part in how I treat myself or relax.

Reading a good book while curled up on my corner of the couch in my comfy clothes is definitely my escapism from reality. But depending on the tension and emotion in the book, it may not be precisely relaxing. And you know how I feel about precision, right?

I guess my best relaxation treat is to innocently cuddle with HB on the couch. NOTE I said INNOCENTLY all you gutter-minded folk out there.
*Ahem* Anyway, I lay my head on his chest and hear the beat of his heart and the sounds of his breathing. He rests his chin on my head. It had become our favorite little evening ritual...

...I just have to be careful not to fall asleep and drool on him.

;-)

'Cause you know, that falls into the category of A Bit Too Relaxed.

Perfect relaxation sequence:
1. Hot shower or bath
2. Hot tea and something sweet & fattening
3. Blogging
4. Chatting with my family
5. Sleeping like the dead

Should we go all out, or are you accepting G-rated entries only here?

:)

If it's only G-rated entries, then I can't play either.

Of course, as Jim always says (he really does): "If I were any more relaxed, I'd be sitting in my own poop."

So, I try not to get THAT relaxed.

Danielle, yeah, but at least it's not as relaxed as Bucky's husband, see her response above.

Jamie Dawn, that sounds so good, too. I was so relaxed last night that I fell asleep a little after nine o'clock. Of course, some idiot outside woke me up five minutes later and I it took me till eleven to get back to sleep. :-)

Mr. B and Bucky, I think everyone in here is over 18. Go for it.

I'm usually fairly relaxed after 2 hours of SelfCensoring and a nice long bath. Any other time, I’m wired like whack.

You’re turn Bucky!

Thanks, Mr B. Yes, now it's Bucky's turn.

Kitty, you never do beat around the bush, oh, wait, ah...

OK, now you will be sorry you pressed for more information.

My relaxation ritual does involve teabags, but not the kind you dip in scalding water.
If the teabaggin' doesn't relax me, then we move on to the fun stuff, which of course means the rock-candy enema. If you're not relaxed when the last piece of rock candy is expelled, then you're just not tryin' hard enough.
Finally, the last stage of my relaxation ritual involves the dog, a jar of smooth peanut butter, and a locked bedroom door.

Good dog, Snickers, GOOD DOG!

Hey, you asked.

Maxin' and relaxin' is easy in my ugly, fluffy chair, with a big fleece blankie. Feels all cozy and is most condusive to napping.

Sigh, can I borrow your tub? Mine is a peely basin of crap.

Bucky? Can I have mine with just butter and leave out the peanut?

Woof!

Bucky, how very, um, creative you are. I'd be an uptight mass of neuroses by the time I was done with rock candy enema.

Plum, I'd let you borrow my tub. It's small and has one of those rough bottoms in it. But it is better than the last place. I went without taking soaking baths for a year there because the tub and the tile around were gross and old and YUCK! At least the one here is clean. Only showers at the last place, and don't touch the walls.

Mr B, woof, indeed. We'll have to see what Bucky says.

Tequila. Lots of it. With a nice hot bubble bath, a spicy romance book, some great music playing on my computer (laptop), a locked door and my heavy duty massaging shower head . Mmmmmmmmmm, yeah.

Er, when I can't take a bath, which is like almost never, I love just watching a G rated movie with my 3 year old daughter and just cuddling her. She's so independant already at this age and this is such a blessing to be able to hold her as she gets sleepy. It's the best! Even better than the tub. :)

I am going back to G rated and boring but it is what it is...

Good book. Tea. Chocolate. Bed. Cat.

Oh yeah!

To Bucky: This is the most gross and disgusting thing I have ever seen in my life, and . . . it might even be too much for you. But see it if you must. NORMAL PEOPLE, do NOT go there!! I innocently went to visit one of my commenters and was greeted with this apalling spectacle:
http://dickcream.com/h/05/0404
Well, she had a link; if I had seen the URL, I probably coulda figured out it wouldn't be sweet and fluffy. Oh, and it is LOUD, so don't do it at work. X-rated, maybe even Y or Z-rated.

There, now, back to nice things. Hot bath, candles. I don't like to read in the tub. Just hang out and play with the bubbles. Tea, music, more candles. Massage is nice, too.

Nic, welcome! Your relaxation method sounds cool, too. It must be hard when you have a small child to find time to do much for just yourself. Heavy-duty massager, yes.

Krankipantzen, welcome to you, too! G-rated, boring, whatever, it sounds good to me. The only part I can't do is the cat as my guy, "Ichabod", is allergic.

Susie, I haven't checked out that URL yet. I may be frightened, right? Your relaxation sounds great to me.

Mr B, we don't judge our commenters here. It's okay, it's okay. We have Clorox wipes for any soiling.

Hi squirl. I just had to stop and leave a comment for Susie after seeing that, that, that thing she linked to. Oh. My. Goodness. Words escape me. I must have a terribly perverse sense of humor because I went into a fit of giggles as soon as I saw it. Just the thought of it makes me want to laugh. And the song! ROFL! The only thing is I have no one to share this with, because they would think I was insane.

Oh yeah, and as for relaxation, I'm wound a little too tight so I have a problem relaxing. I love a good massage so I either have my husband give me a back or foot rub, I go get a pedicure, or I go get my hair cut and washed. A soft touch always relaxes me. I also don't take enough relaxing baths. I'm going to do that this Sunday.
