The rocket's red glare...
Did you really think you were going to get away with no fireworks pictures? :)
I'm going to post my favorites. If you're interested then you can check out the rest at Flickr. I actually took a lot more than what's on Flickr. Most of them weren't as good as I'd have liked but that's why there were, originally, over a hundred of them.
Toward the end it looked as if the glass parking ramp was being bombed, there was so much smoke and light.

Those are great photos, Squirl. You are right: they do rather remind me of the bombing and missile attacks on Bagdad at the beginning of the present war. I suppose that’s because of the buildings. The fireworks here explode over the Ohio River, so pictures seldom have buildings in them.
Oh good! I had to miss the fireworks this year because I was house-sitting for someone with skittish doggies. Thank you for posting these - I feel like I at least got to SEE some :)
Those are SOOOOOOO cool! I really like fireworks, so long as they don't go off when I'm trying to sleep. :)
And digital cameras were made so we could take hundreds of pictures at a time and not feel guilty. Click on, sister, click on...
ntemp214, this was over the river, too. I just wasn't that close, therefore, the buildings. Thanks
Jim, when we stayed at Ichabod's folks' place the dog didn't like fireworks. I just stayed by her and comforted her. Glad you got a chance to see them second-hand here. :)
Bucky, thanks! Yep, that's why I took Wednesday off. I knew I wouldn't get any sleep anyway. And dontcha love that about digital cameras?
Glad you found internet. :)
Those are great! Thanks for posting them!
my hubby used to be in the military and now he hates fireworks--he said he saw enough of them in the army--but I'm still in absolute awe of them!!!
Beautiful pics! Were there any loud booming ones? And those swirly screamers? Fun!!!
Nina, thanks, and you're welcome!
Effie, yes, there were the reports and lots of swirly things. Ichabod likes the really loud ones. Fireworks are gorgeous.
We used to be able to see the higher fireworks while lying in bed. Now the garage blocks our view. :(
Glad you enjoyed the fireworks! Your pictures will give you something to remember. And that is the main point of having them.
Sometimes I takes hundreds of photos too and only keep or post a portion of them. Bucky is right, yay for digital cameras. :-)
Wow those are great. They are also the only fireworks I saw this year. Thanks for posting them.
OMG, your blog is absolutely AMAZING!!! The pictures you post are INCREDIBLE!!!! Keep up the wonderful work! I'll for sure be visiting often! :o)
tshsmom, well, at least your garage is useful.
Danielle, thanks! Yes, digital cameras are great.
August, thanks! Glad you enjoyed them. Some years I don't end up seeing any fireworks either.
Jon, thanks! That's very nice of you. You have some interesting artwork over at your place, too.
Those are great pictures, you captured the whole effect.....I love the black sky and the lighting infront of the buildings...
My dog max was shaking so hard when those firecrackers went off. We had some that sounded like bombs....
Judy, thanks! So sorry to hear about your dog. We just can't explain what's going on to the poor things.
Bone, I can appreciate that.
Those are pretty! I like the first blue one the best!
Glad you had a good time staying at home. We would stay at home if we could see the fireworks from our house. :)

Amber, thanks! If we had to go anyplace, we probably would miss them. But as long as there are people partying above us on the roof I might as well go outside and watch the colors.
Nice photos, Squirl!
Thanks, Ladybug
Hee! Some of those make the building look like a giant phallus with a fuzzy, lighted head... or is that just me?
Eclectic, you have a very good imagination. But, then again, so do I. ;)
Oh, it's a tiara. That's it! Thanks!
