First step
Well, I got the walls painted. I like yellow, but was tired of it in the living room. I picked Navajo White. The yellow paint had been a higher gloss than normal for a living room so it was a pain to cover it; it seemed like the new paint just slid around on top of it. But, I've got it as good as I plan to. Next step is to paint the woodwork, but I'm just not ready for that yet.
A couple of pictures.

Ok. Tell the truth. How many times has the laptop been knocked from its perch? Come on, you can admit it.
Mr B, the computers, chairs, and footstools got moved completely out of the room during the painting time. Not only would it have been in danger of falling, I wouldn't have gotten any work done because I would have been playing on the computer. ;-)
Looks good! You were wise not to give me a paintbrush. See prior efforts.
Bucky, I think the walls you're painting are even more slippery than the ones I just covered. They do cover a bit better, and faster, with a roller, too. Thanks!
I always feel like I splash paint for a 3-mile radius when I use a roller. Maybe I'm just messy. Yeah, I think that's true.
Bucky, the mess usually comes from the ends of the roller. You can just wipe them off. Think about it the next time you paint a room. It is soooo much faster.
That looks so lovely and tranquil. I love it. How long did it take you and how many were helping? The reason I ask is that I am painting my apartment this summer and have no clue how long it will take. I'm also going from a light tan colour (like that when I moved in) to a very pure white. But holy! There are sure a lot of whites to choose from. I want a very bright but cool white-nothing remotely dingy. So far it's been really hard. I want it to be perfect because I don't want to do it again any time soon. What a job it is!
Nice! A very mellowing colour. This is the kind of colour that I'm leaning toward for our place, as anything too bright could be overwhelming in such a small condo.
That is awsome color. I like my walls right now. They are red speckeled.. Anyway did you check your e-mail from your last post I asked you to do. I e-mailed you a bit ago???
You made some good decisions, Squirl. I lived with living room walls of yellow (my ex-wife's choice) for much too long. Navajo White sounds much more peaceful!
Ooooh it looks wonderful!!
Kranki, I'm trying to figure out how many hours I actually put into the job. It might have taken me, like, 20 hours or more. I'm not very fast, though. I don't know how hard it will be to cover tan with cool white. Every time I paint I swear I'll never do it again.
SME, thanks! Yeah, this would look good in a small place. It is a relaxing color.
Tweety, thanks! I still need to answer you. Sorry...
Nick, I'm still overjoyed when looking at the walls. :-)
E, thanks, sis!
Looks lovely!
Looking good!
I hate painting, but we can't afford to hire someone to do it. :(
Much better than the yellow! MUCH better!
I love the color! Noticeable but subtle.
I get a brand of Popsicles that has a berry flavour one, and the colour of it is a deep plum. I'm trying to figure out how I can get that Popsicle into Lowes so they can read the colour. With five cats, a dog and Dan I'm not sure that I'll ever have a white anything again. I know that if they all put their heads together they'd figure out how to mess up light walls.
Oh, by the way, if you have to paint over gloss or semi-gloss again and don't want to sand the walls down, try a deglossing liquid.
Looking good! I like the new cream color.
It looks really nice. I don't quite remember the before, but the after looks terrific! :-)
htgt, thanks!
tshsmom, I hate painting, I hate the idea of paying someone to do it even more.
Laurie, thanks! I'm still thinking that every time I look at it.
Jenski, thanks!
Courtney, that color sounds great! Good luck on getting the popsicle to Lowe's before it melts. Thanks for the deglossing tip.
LadyM, thanks!
Danielle, the yellow is in the previous post. Thanks!
It's almost July, Squirl. Time for a blog update?
